Just thought I would let everyone the upgrade path I followed.

I loved my 1992 Talon N/T! Still do since my neighbor bought it from me. I was all about upgrading it wanting this and that for it. Thinking of swapping a 4G63T in it etc etc.

1yr and 1/2 after I bought it I had the oppurtunity to buy a 1996 GS-T for $3000.(gallery)

I encourage all of you keep your N/T!! I wish I did! but I buying a turbo DSM for speed is the way to go. I am not trying to hate just sharing my experience. :rocks:

I like my non turbo, for daily driving, but i personally have drove my friends 95 awd tsi and i wish how much i could have it everyday. Speed is great but it can get you tickets. Even the NT can get u tickets :( thats my 2 cents

not entirely true. you won't get tickets if you drive smart. I only open her up at night with no cars on the highway. that and my passport 8500 helps me out :thumb:

be smart and don't floor it everywhere and you'll be okay.

aaaaaaaaaaand.. CONGRATS! FWD turbo !!!

Non-turbos are great. I have a 4G63 non-turbo which ran great but i wanted more power so i swapped in a turbo 6-bolt and I had so many problems and eventually blew it. I put my original non-turbo back in and not a problem since. I love my non-turbo car but i have a need for speed that only a turbo can satisfy so when i try the turbo swap again i am getting another dsm so that i will still be able to drive my reliable non-turbo everyday.

Started with a N/T.. tricked it out, check the gallery.. Loved it so much but need to feel the boost. SO i bought a non-running TSI AWD, built it up, cleaned the motor. now I got project 2... Now I feel both side's and will stay with DSM 4 Ever... Next 2nd Gen. spyder TSI...

Turbo the bad boy. thats what i did :D

Fun project and it runs like a champ!! Tickets are always a problem. I get pulled over for altered muffler, stickers and tints. the car is prone for problems. and also my front license plate is not mounted and in NY thats illegal. I hate some laws!! LOL

yea everyday i wish i could aford to keep my 2g NA, seriously i miss her.... had a great system and even better gas mileage, mash her all day long and still go more than 170 on a tank like i do in the turbo..... what sucks the most is that the person i sold it too probibl wrecked it within a month :'( well thats what happend to their previous 2 cars.....

haha, my buddie rags the shit out of his 96 tsi awd and still gets 300 to the tank. You gotta drive it like you stole it, these cars love it.

Congrats man!Welcome to the darkside.LOL.Yeah like many of you guys i started out with a NT(2g) dsm.Had lot's of fun and it was agreat learning expirience. These dsm's get addicting man,I was able to pick ip a 90 tsi awd last year and i love it.Haven't looked back since. As a matter of fact I just picked up a galnt VR4 3 weeks ago!these cars are great, all of them NT or turbo,4g63 or 420a.Good luck on your new project bro.check my gallery for pics of my hoo rides.I love this site and all the ideas that i've gotten from it,there's nothign like feeling that boost throw you back in the seat.

I've got both. I have a '90 GST that gets about 380 miles per tank and I just bought back my '93 GS 4g63 N/T. If I remember right, I could get 400+ miles per tank. The kid I bought it back from thought it needed a valve job because of a top end noise. I looked at for 5 minutes and found the noise. The bolts on the water pump pulley were loose! I sold the car in August for $2350 and bought back last week for $750. I only had $750 in it when I sold it. So I got the car back and I'm $850 ahead and the car had an aftermarket muffler, a K&N air filter and glow gauges when I got it back. SCORE!!!! Now my wife has something to drive while I'm fixing the oil leaks on her '92 Cutlass Supreme with the 4 cam 3.4 engine. :rocks:
