I own a 1991 Eagle Talon Non Turbo(as for why i believed it should be posted here) I have down some work to it. I have intake, turbo cams, rebuilt motor with new pistons etc... No balance shafts. Just some easy/sometimes a pain ways to add a little horse power and torque. I am all for the natural aspiration motors but mine isn't seem to be giving me the fast car i want. I am considering selling it and buying a new dsm with a turbo but i would rather keep this car. Has anyone kept there motor NT and cranked a lot of horse power out of it. Im not expecting to be the fastest car but a car that can beat most. I know it is possible with stoker kits and such. Any ideas? Any questions or if i confused you just ask me to clarify on whatever you don't understand. Would be happy to.

Oh one last thing. Does weight reduction help your horsepower to weight ration and how extreme would you go with removing parts?

I just did a new search and found a link to this.

Some feed back would be nice still and personal storys of how you did it or would do it.

THanks again,

EDIT: I was reading the article above and came across a statment of if you dont have a cat it can kill your performance...Does this have any truth to it? My car seemed to run a little lean but maybe it was just me. Whats a good cat to buy to replace my test pipe if it is murding my performance?

Well I think like many of us on here, we are all in the middle of our project. You can look through my profile to see the extent of the work that I have done to my n/t build-up. It is finally all together and running, but due to some unexpected bills, I haven't been able to get it to a dyno and properly tune it. I still need to completely redo the ECU to accept all the changes that I have made. So right now I don't have any numbers to give or a success story to tell. Wish I could be a little more help, but thought I would at least let you know that there are others out there doing the same thing as you, but it takes time and money and a whole hell of a lot of patience! My project is more than likely shelved until the spring with my tax return money. Maybe then I will be able to finish it off and provide some results. Good luck with yours! :thumb:

at one time i had high hopes and aspirations for naturally aspirated 4g63 performance. i gave up on my project due to mulitple financial troubles and an opportunity to pick up a 1g laser turbo for cheap. i still have all the parts laying around for a hybrid engine, but i doubt it will be a completed project without a big turbo. gunning for big numbers out of the NA 4g63 is niether cheap nor easy. best of luck with any project like this you decide to take up. my advice: get a second vehicle to drive while you work on that project and open up a seperate savings account.
