PA emissions

ok, obx headers that come with downpipe, custum piping prob gonna go with 2.5" then a megan racing muffler (in process of ordering). i have a stock replacement cat, do i have to buy a resonator then? or if i return that and get a high flow cat, is that the resonater and will it pass PA inspe. and emm.? any one who lives in pa let me know because i got inspec comin up next month n im tryin to get all this equipment on and know if it will pass.

yeah, and i am only about 2minutes away from highpsi... but i know that emissions are hard here... I was exempt last time due to that my car moved less than 5k miles... so I dunno if it will pass next time round !

You will be fine with a highflow cat in lehigh county. Im not 100% sure of what test 95 and older cars get in lehigh, pretty sure its the same as berks, which is visual, and gas cap check. For the visual, you technically do have a cat there, so it will pass.

I'm in berks, 95 and older is just visual, Icedragons in Montgomery, they are tough on emissions.

But yeah, you can use a high flow cat and pass.

my car passed the tailpipe probe with a pacesetter header, punched out cat, 2.5" mandrel bent from catback with a cheapo can muffler to quiet it down, that was with 187k on it last year, this year it was exempt due to having 4985 miles, hehe, cut it close!

You shouldn't have a problem unless you were running rich or something.
I have a 3" turboback from RNR (straight through muffler) and hi-flow cat, and it passed the tailpipe sniffer test. I just didn't pass b/c of my emissions lines haha
But the mechanic told me that he could 'get it passed' for an extra $50, so I had no choice but to do that

Right now, certain counties get lucky and don't have real strict emmisions stuff. Especially northern PA where there is no emission testing...yet. Eventually the state will all have the same emission testing standards. But no word yet when this will go into effect
