exhaust systems...

strait to the point...i bought a new cat convt for my car but the problem is the old one is not gonna come off, my girlfriends dad has aircompressed tools and it still didnt budge, so i figure get the obx headers, and an ebay exhaust (low on cash big into my car), and have this shop give me new stainless steel piping. so i was just wondering if there is a best cough:cheap:cough ebay exhaust ??? and with my new k&n filter i just turned my idle up and now shes runnin better tho its still puttering. so my exhaust set up is gonna be obx headers, direct fit replacement cat, custum piping and whatever exhaust and some type of resonator if necassary. any input is great

Wouldn't trust ebay exhaust. Pacesetter catback is good imo, people say replace the muffler. You need rust penetrant to get the bolts off.

If you get custom and go with 2.5" get a resonator for sure or you car will fart and possibly backfire. Don't know if pacesetter has a resonator. I personally wish I had stayed with my stock system, it sounded really nice.

i have custom bent 2.5inch piping with a high flow cat runnin through a flowmaster 40 series muffler. it sounds good. doesnt backfire or fart. has a nice tone to it.

Mine got raspy before the resonator was installed. I had a borla twin tip muffler.

It sounded like a pissed off be when cruising. I liked the tone, don't get me wrong. Sounded wicked at full throttle. Maybe mine sounded like that initially cause of thestock cat???

Read up and see how people liked their setup, but keep in mind, just because they liked it doesn't mean you will.

if your looking for a nice deep sound, performance, and a good price:

whatever header you want with 2.25" pipe. make sure their is a flex section. then your cat, and a long resonator as far back as possible. the further away the better(from the engine), then get a muffler, just about any will work their too. you can get the autozone $20 muffler, and stick a clean looking tip on it, and it should sound great. I constantly mess with exhasut systems...its so much easier when the cars turbo to get a great(not to loud) sound.
