Is there anyway to splice this harness into the stock one so you don't have to run the translator??? or a place where I can buy an adapter??? I know it would be better to just get the translator, but I can't afford all the stuff to hook that up and be able to play with it on the fly like I can if I just splice it in...

i know this doesn't answer your question, but does the GM MAF fit onto the stock intake pipe? Is there any fabrication needed?

Well, it would, but you'd have to cut parts of the rubber out and put in the intake I got... so instead I am just gonna fabricate a aluminum intake for it.

I'm pretty sure the translator is there for more than a plug adaptor. It converts the signal from the maf into something the computer can understand. Without that it is like someone talking another language to you, you wouldn't know what to do. Hence the name "Translator".

I would love to know how to just convert over without the adjustment stuff... Its probably like 10 dollars worth of stuff in there. Like the datalog cables that cost upwards of 100 and I did a parts list check and the most expensive peice is the 1.30 ic. Look for an electrical engineer of some kind.

I have given up on aluminem intake, making a PVC (temporary) one just to hold me over with the maft... and gonna run a logger cable into a laptop, just looking for software now.

the translator changes the frequency to be in the dsm spec for the computer basically it is a divide by counter and then they tap of the most significant for the multiplier/ divider so no there is no way to do it with out the translator as they call it and there is less than $10 worth of parts probably less than $5 but the engineer has to get paid for wasteing his time designing it. he probably did it while in a class one day back at college wouldn't take long to do. not a different language just a different speed. much like a city person talking to a person from the country you just get tired of waiting for the country person to finish there sentences
