what should i do to my interior since its gutted before i put it back together.

My entire interior is currently removed so i could replace all my interior harness and was wondering what i should do prior to reassembling the car.

2 things i plan to do.
1. remove ebrake and bead blast the assembly and mounting plate and paint it.
2. remove and bead blast and seal the shifter assembly

If you want to lose some weight take dry ice and a scraper to the sound deadening near the center console and such!

I was gunna gut it and remove all the sound deadening but im having a hard time talking myself into it because the entire interior other than the seats weighs like 30-40 pounds. by removing other stuff i can offset the weight retention of a mostly complete interior to keep it somewhat drivable for the street.

Not quite sure what you mean by drive ability. Noise? If so remove all the factory sound deadening except for that around the rear wheel wells. That's a noisy area especially if going they gravel etc. the rest you won't notice for the most part.

if it doesnt change the sound level i might do it then. I will use liquid co2 vs dry ice just because it works 100 times faster than dry ice chunks. Just spray an area, tap it with a hammer and move to the next.

I removed all of my sound deadening material, and did not really notice a difference, except on gravel roads like stated above!

ok then ill definitely pull it out tomorrow. At least in the front footwells and under the seats. the exhaust im not worried about making noise in the car so its pointless for noise reduction on that anyways.

If it were me, I'd get all that factory sound deadener off, paint the bare metal, and replace with Dynamat or something along those lines.

if im going to remove it, its going to stay gone. Not only will the dyna mat weigh more but is expensive to do the whole car for something thats a street driven track car.

was thinking i would strip the sound deadner and paint it with something thicker than paint like truck bed liner so as sand works thru the carpet it doesn't rub the paint away and allow rust to start.

If you get rid of the sound deadening you can always spray a layer of undercoating to deaden the noise for the street. I can't see how a spray can or two would add more than a few pounds.

im not looking for every pound i can get out of the car to be gone. just some of the normal stuff. Any weight loss or retention can be overcome by adding more boost. if i max out the setup then the weight will get another eyeball.
