Cliff Notes: Someone who can come to us in Morristown, NJ 07960 to modify the flange on a downpipe - relatively easy job.
We changed the turbo and manifold setup on our DSM and the downpipe flange is not mating up to the turbo anymore. The downpipe has a T3 2.5" 4 bolt flange that goes directly to the turbo (like an O2 housing eliminator). The ERL manifold that we're using angles the turbo slightly to clear the engine block and water pipe. Because of this slight angle the two flanges are missing each other by about 1/4". The flange should just need to be cut off, angled/cocked slightly and rewelded. This is something that should be a fairly simple job, the problem is that we don't weld and the car is at our house and no mobile welder wants to touch it because it's on the car (too much of a liability apparantly).
If someone can help us out, please PM us ASAP. We've been sitting on this turbo install for over a week now and need to get the car back on the road. The car is in our garage and the downpipe can be removed from the car to be welded. The welder just needs to see how to mock it up while it's still on the car for proper fitment before removing - maybe tack weld it while it's on the car and then finish welding it after it's removed?
