ECUflash CeddyMod v1 (EcuFlash)

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

Hello everyone I thought I would post something here since no one apparently knows how to read. Ceddy has asked everyone enough times that this thread is not for posting question, and that is why he keeps telling everyone to check the other thread and post your problem questions there. So people open your eyes and pay attention and quit wasting Ceddy time please. He is trying to get an update out to us, and answering question for people is cutting into that so quit.

This thread has everything you will need to flash the 98/99 ECU

Thanks Everyone

Any updates on this ?

Been busy updating my website and learning php-> www.ceddy.us

A lot of things are in the works, need some time to finish them up, and get things tested:
Next Version of CeddyMods,
No Limit on Ignition Retard, was -5, now -27 degrees possible,
Working on fix for 95-96 Inverted CAS,
Patch for Big Maps, use Evo9 Fuel and Timing Maps,
Fix for AirFlow and Injector PulseWidth done,
Working on Speed Density Conversion,
probably some other things I'm forgetting.

I should have files out to beta-testers in a few days, and a update posted here later in the week.

Have you looked at the 25x30 maps that Tephra is putting in the next Tephra mod version?

Are your big maps going to be the same size?

Is the NLTS in the 1.4? I don't see a setting for it and post1 says "not coded" but i'm not sure how up-to-date that is. I'm going to wire the pedal to pin 91 tonight but i'm not sure what to expect. Also, do I tap the pedal-out switch or the pedal-floored switch?

NLTS is not coded yet. I'm still debating which spare input to use.
The Park/Neutral pin is used by Auto Trans. I believe this pin causes the maps to switch between maps 1 and 2. Hopefully someone with an auto trans can test this for me. I might save this input for realtime map switching, as I believe it already does this.

The Base Timing Adjust pin I want to save to set timing for people with 6-bolts, because the EvoScan Actuators don't work for us.

So I still need to find a spare input that won't interfere with people who have Automatic Transmissions.

The NLTS wire is usually connected to the Starter Safety Switch, but some people have better luck connecting to the other switch.

I have an idea: put a switch in perifery to switch from P/N to NLTS.
Auto guys don't need NLTS

I have not checked the timing one but the actuators for fuel pump ect. works for my 98

We don't need timing set when you can run a log and set timing to what the log shows. Thats how I did mine.

I think it would be better on the "other" switch but the issue with that is when you press the clutch the Gnd gets interupted. It would have to be set up to use a 6k rpm limit when gnd is dissconected.

Think I may do something like that. I'm not sure how much the ECU and Auto Trans TCU talk to each other, I don't want to add any code that will make an Auto wig out.

I've done that in the past, but its kinda of a pain. I like the the Adjustable Base Timing like I have it now. You put it at 5 degrees to set timing, then put it at 0 degrees to make sure your cam gears are lined up.

I should have a new version out later in the week, hopefully.

I'm using the Evo9 Maps, 21x20 for Timing and 20x15 for Fuel.
They are a big upgrade from the 16x18 and 14x14 maps now.
There isn't enough room for really huge maps.

Plus we can cut and paste the Evo9 maps, and not have to start from scratch.

Donated.

Where can we get this new version? Also It seems I cannot edit my periphery bits in

"20550011-extended_maps.bin"?

Am I missing something?

The extended maps is just a plain rom not CeddyMods, can't use the CeddyMod options with it.

Email sent.

Features:
SpeedLimiter Disabled.

BoostCut(FuelCut) Disabled.

Load Limit and IPW Limit Disabled.

Ignition Retard Limit Disabled: -27* Retard Possible.

1ByteLoad Fixed: Log Load up to 320, twice previous 160 Limit.

AirFlow Calculations Fixed: Log lb/min or g/sec (Great for plotting Turbo Compressor Maps).

Base Timing Terminal: Base Timing Function added for setting your timing. Adjustable so you can set any advance. Set to 0* for Adjustable Cam Gears.

CEL on Knock: CEL blinks when your set Knock threshold is exceeded. If your CEL is on, it blinks off.

G/Rev Scaling: G/Rev Scaling has been added to the EcuFlash xml. So if you are coming from DSMLink or the Subaru world and prefer G/Rev instead of Load in your map axis you can switch them easily.

Launch Control:
Launch Control now has four levels of functionality.
And offers a top notch Drag Racing Launch Control System.
Launch Control: Standard 2-Step, AKA StutterBox.

AntiLag Ign Retard: 2-Step plus Ignition Retard, -27* Retard possible.

AntiLag AFR Control : 2-Step plus Ign Retard, plus AFR Control. Set your desired AFR while launching. Ign Retard + Rich AFR = Big Boost off the line.

NLTS: No Lift to Shift. When Clutch is pressed RevLimit drops, no need to lift off the Throttle. For super fast shifts.

EvoScan Updated RequestIds:
Removed items that don't work with DSMs, fixed formulas that were wrong, added important items to log.

Patches:
BigMaps: Doubles the size of the stock Ignition and Fuel Maps. My previous version of BigMaps increased the size of the maps to the larger Evo9 maps. This version goes even further and increases them to the maximum that will fit in the ROM. They are the biggest and highest resolution maps of any DSM EMS.

Boost Gauge Conversion: Turn you useless Factory Boost Gauge into something useful. Any ECU parameter can be monitored with the gauge. Need people to help test out new gauges and get the scaling dialed in.

Speed Density:
Speed Density is in the works. Basic functionality has been set up.
As of now the only support hardware is the GM 3-BAR MAP and IAT sensor.
You can start dialing in you VE maps now, so you will be ready.
Big thanks to MrFred for helping me out with this, and JCSBanks for the original Evo code.

Comparison of the stock 2G maps and the BigMaps mod.

Downloads:
These files are not compatible with older versions of CeddyMods or a plain 20550011.
You must switch everything over at once. Mismatching with older versions may cause problems.

http://ceddy.us/wp-content/uploads/CeddyModV8b1.zip

Data.xml
Goes in -> C:\Program Files\EvoScan\EvoScan v2.6\DataSettings
This is a totally redone EvoScan RequestId file. It fixes many things that were wrong, and added many new items for DSMs.

20550011.xml
Goes in -> C:\Program Files\OpenECU\EcuFlash\rommetadata\mitsubishi\eclipse
New EcuFlash file for CeddyMods Version 8.

20550011-mod-V8b1.hex
CeddyMods Version 1.81 Beta ROM
Many new features added.

What you can do to help out:
MapTracer is still not working for us H8 ECU guys, in EvoScan. MapTracer is a real nice feature that we should have working.
I submitted a support ticket a few monthes ago, but it is still not fixed.
So if you payed for EvoScan please submit a support ticket asking for "H8 MapTracer to be fixed".

Donations: CeddyMods is donationware. That means you pay what you think its worth or what you can afford. I've put hundreds of of hours of my time into figuring this all out for the DSM community and have asked very little in return. I need to purchase hardware and ECUs for testing, which is expen$ive. Even if you can donate a dollar or two, its the thought that counts, and it puts a smile on my face knowing someone appreciates my work. :D

How is maptracer not working?

<-- is obviously not an H8 guy.

I'm just curious because evoscan largely shouldn't care what rom you're using and if it is a matter of scaling then the easy and temporary fix is to just load up an evo8 rom which should have the same fuel and ignition scaling that you use now right? Maptracer also didn't have a problem with me switching to big maps on an entirely new rom id (96531706). I just don't see how maptracer can care what car you're using.

The H8 xml uses the Memory address, which is offset +0x10000 from the ROM address. So the map definition isn't loaded correctly. SH ecu have no offset.

It should be very easy to fix. Just need to let Hamish know how many H8 guys are using his software.

This is awesome. I'd love to run your stuff just as soon as I can get my 2.0 cable.

I'm going to try and just use the stock ROM first and adjust for my injectors to get the car running. Then I'll help test this out for your and also make a donation. Your work and the speed you're doing it in is simply amazing.

awsome can't wait to finish my car and use all this... I might have you put a break-in rom for me

Finally got Speed Density working!!!

Got rained out, so I couldn't finish up testing it.

The Holset sounds mean, with no MAF and filter on it.
Hopefully the rain will stop so I can do a road test, pretty sure the Delta-TPS compensation needs some tweaking.
