SS downpipe to rust is the flex section. I spent a lot of money on a Buschur racing SS downpipe and I am kinda pissed it's rusted. Only on the flex section but it's still rusted. I think next time I will make my own 3 inch downpipe with no flex section.
 
Solid mounts better use lockwashers and locktight. My car is a loose bolt machine.
 
now you say that you have front and rear solid POLYTHANE mounts? please someone tell me where you can buy them i have the motor and trans mounts but my kit came with the little cheap plastic inserts they broke out after a few months. i have searched all over the web and cant find them anywhere???

Why didn't you just get an ebay downpipe. As long as its stainless steel it should be just as good as the buschur and a hell of a lot cheaper.

Edit: you could probably have an exhaust shop cut out the rusty flex section and weld in a solid piece of stainless steel.
 
I still have the car. I switched over to a punishment racing 3 inch stainless dp, deleted the cat and welded a front section onto my Thermal Research exhaust. I still have the Buschur racing 2.5" ss dp and am thinking of selling it.
