Dark_Horse has already mentioned specific gravity, but I would like to make the reference more apparent for anyone who doesn't know what SG means.



SG = Specific Gravity

As a note, specific gravity is also abbreviated as SP GR.

I have recently learned that the Evo9 pumps flows slightly more than the Evo8. A nice tidbit of good news. ;) And yes, the Evo9 pump is a direct replacement, just like the Evo8 pump is. :thumb:
 
Well, I was hoping I would be the first to test out the flow capabilities of the Evo 9 and 10 OEM pumps, but I'm a little slow on the trigger. :cry: Oh well. Maybe I'll test them out of spite. AMS beat me to the punch.

The first link tests the Evo 8, 9, and 10 pumps. The second link adds the Walbro 255 HP into the equation. Many have been waiting to see the capabilities of the Evo pumps, so here they are.

I have recently bought an Evo X pump. I have no idea if it will be a direct bolt on for the DSMs, but I should know relatively shortly. The only reason for me to test them myself is to see them at certain voltages. Both graphs neither indicate what the pumps were tested at. :(
 
I think you need to clarify your question, I'm not sure what you're asking.

Are you asking why the fuel flow from the pumps goes down with pressure?

Our cars use a rising rate fuel pressure regulator, the intention is that because the intake is pressurized there is force against the injectors which reduces their flow and the higher that force the greater the fuel pressure that is required in order to get the correct amount of fuel into the engine. As the pressure required increases the fuel pump needs to work harder in order to get the fuel to the required pressure so flow drops off.

It doesn't matter if you have a thousand little questions because most of us will be happy to answer them as long as you're willing to do some reading, as long as we know what you're asking we can give you the answers and little questions will probably help you to build a foundation for understanding the concepts that you are looking for.
