You need the ECU, then you send it in after you purchase dsmlink, they will socket your ECU and put in your chip(with defaults you select). They then send the ECU, software, cable, instructions, stock chip, etc. back to you. You then put the socketed ECU in the car and hook it back up.

To make adjustments, you plug the cable into your OBDII port and into your computer.
