Car is a 95 GSX manual trans. Stock except DSMlink. 72K.

When I travel on the freeway, after a short time I get a whining noise from somewhere in the drivetrain. It gets progressively louder, turning into a "ringing" noise for lack of a better term. First time it happened I pulled off, let it cool, then continued on with the cruise set at 60 MPH. The noise stopped.

Above 60 I get the noise. It gets increasingly louder quickly. With the car at 60 or below, I can drive for hours with no noise. There is a fresh Synchroshift in the trans, Redline Shockproof in the transfercase and rearend. In normal in-town driving, I get a "whurring" noise during deceleration.

Help is appreciated :dsm:

I say Wheel Bearing - Maybe a REAR brake Caliper locking up - Find out VERY FAST what it really is, as any of this can be dangerous & it would be a shame to wreck over this~!
