Tuning e85 with dsmlink

The mileage I'm getting is 25% less than with gasoline. I do virtually no highway travel. My commute to work is 16 miles with 15 stops and I average 15mpg with a lot of boosting being done.

500hp is not an issue with E85. I made 510whp at 39psi on a stock engine. Stock from the throttle body to oil pan. My fuel system was overkill, and will be much smaller and simpler this time around. After what we have been experimenting on 2 2G's with.

Fuel economy is not bad if you have a bigger turbo. A 14b or 16g will give you poor economy either way, but the big turbo is out of boost and should help tremendosly. I got an average of 30mpg with my mirage. Awder here was getting no less than 26mpg in his 2G. You can tune around most things. Just run stoich gasoline ratios on part throttle and idle and you are good.

Wow you where running 39psi and only making 500hp. What turbo is that. My brother is making near 400whp at 26psi on a 16g.

And when you told him to retune, when I said add 30% I meant to add 30% fuel at wot then start tuning from there to a low 11 afr. Not just add 30% and call it a day.

450whp on a 16g does not even seem attainable. Has he actually been to a dyno to confirm this. How many lb/min is he flowing?

Look in the drag section. There is a guy that dynoed 450whp and ran a 10.33 on a 16g. I did over exagerate, but his is running around 380-400whp. E85 is amazing, it allows lots of boost and timing. This is from a butt dyno. Guy that ran a 12.1 on a 16g has nothing on his car and he is running a stroker, but he is on pump. I think he dynoed around 350whp so from that Im guessing he is over 350whp.

I was running a stock 2G head, 100psi compression 6 bolt bottom end, 1G N/A cams, stock intake and a non turbo throttle body. I was flowing a legitimate 61lbs/min, the motor just would not ingest it. That is why it took 39psi to make 510. I made 462 at 34psi.

Good luck to the OP with E85. It is really fun.

Steven

thanks to everyone, I'm getting ready to start tuning the car tomorrow (9-18)
