I managed to get my 96 SOHC 2.0 coupe to run a 14.3 with typical bolts ons and a megasquirt a few years ago
Stock head with cam, bone stock plastic intake, the rest was pretty typical other than the megasquirt
funny thing is i ran 2 tenths and 1mph better than with an Aftermarket ECU
but i made less power because the trigger wheel for the EDIS kept slipping and we had to be careful with timing
with a good tune i would have made more than the 156whp i had with the aftermarket ECU and im sure i could have got into the flat 14's
13.9 or so with the head and intake manifold i didnt have on yet

the car has been apart a while and the new setup that im assembling now is a 2.4 with a holset H1C and bullseye housing

the fastest NA neon i can recall at this time that wasnt pro would likely be steve kalesa who i belive was around 11.9 maybee low 12's on slicks
