EVO III MAS on a 2G

This site may earn a commission from merchant affiliate links, including eBay, Amazon, and others.

The EVO VIII MAS can flow enough air for 500+ WHP unhacked and requires changes to the MAS wiring and a proper method of fuel control to work (Link, chip, etc). At my current power levels I've not yet outflowed the 2G MAF so you're not even close to needing one. I've not heard of people trying an EVO III MAS. I think you're confusing it with the EVO III turbo.

Here's a reference thread on how much power it can handle before the honeycombs implode:

Hope that helps,

You have to be running some big boost to outflow the 2G mas. I outflowed my 1G mas at 19 pounds on my 16G but the 2G was just fine at 24 pounds. I would stick with the 2G MAS, there have been some very fast times with that sensor on there.

Agreed. The 2G MAS is more than capable of making power well into the 400 WHP range. A little hacking and it'll do even more (mine is unhacked by the way).

Damn you got 19psi before out running the 1g maf. I hit fuel cut around 15psi.

I hit fuel cut at 16 pounds but once you get that AFC that I just sold you then you should be able to hold 19 pounds without hitting fuel cut. :thumb:

Fuel cut is not caused by outflowing the MAS. The ECU just sees that you are pulling way more air than what was allowed by the manufacturer and cuts fuel to keep you from blowing the motor up. The AFC corrects this since it is actually chaning the signal that the ECU sees from the MAS.

I know I know. I know the safc will allow it to cut a little later. I have a 2g maf installed so I will be fine. Once I get that SAFC installed im only going to run about 14-15psi. I still have not installed my FMIC. Im also on the stock fuel pump and stock clutch.

Jeff at DSMchips has a new custom chip he can do now for people with a 2G MAF with the side and bottom honeycombs removed.
