I'm going to be getting an HKS Type 0 Turbo Timer and I'm not sure that I'll have the money for a harness to do a "Plug and Play" install. I was wondering how difficult the install is without it, and if its really worth $20 to get a harness. I'm no stranger to soldering irons and electronics wiring diagrams, but I've never done anything in a car outside of your basic car stereo or amplifier install. How difficult would it be to install the turbo timer without a harness? I do want it to be a permanent part of the car, as I don't forsee getting another vehicle for quite some time.

Its really not that hard at all...just tap into like 4 wires into your ignition harness. The plug and play harness only helps for the basic 3/4 wires in your ignition harness. If your turbo timer has any other special features (o2, parking brake sensor, ect.), they need to be wired in seperately.

Here is a write-up on the hardwire in a 1g, hope that helps.

I wonder why it didn't show up in my search for "turbotimer install"

Thanks!
