Screw the alarm, lets see what you clever bitches can come up with...

I know a guy who has a 93 VW POS with an interesting anti-theft system. In order to start the car you had to stick a magnet to the kickplate. It was some sort of magnetic solenoid that was a manual power cut. I can see the look on the guys face after he hot wires the thing... WTF?!!!

I was even thinking if you had a conventional race-battery cut swith in the rear of the car. Unless the crook noticed it, or was a car guy, how would he know to check it? Just switch it to off, anytime you go anywhere. So can anyone come up with something cooler? Or better yet, do you utilize something other than an alarm?

I got one... take the bus hahaha

just messin, umm i would say pitch black windows. so atleast they cant see in your ride.

Kinda defets the purpose if you have your system turned up to 150db.

That's supa-cool. Like a Hall Effect or something? The possibilities are endless - you can get sensors for cheap that sense just about anything... phototransistors (have to uncover a hole to let light shine on it to start the car or something), etc etc...

Have switches for starter electricity, and fuel pump electricity.

;)

What do you do if your ignition turns without the key? (Happened in my old truck)

Anyone see the movie THE JACKAL? Bruce Willis is the bad guy assassin. He sprays some type of aresol spray can on all the door handles. When someone touched the handle the liquid supposedly crossed through his skin and entered the blood stream. It killed him within 30 seconds. Even if it doesnt exist, that type of thing would be pretty cool. Unless someone wears latex gloves or something :shhh: -Matt

I have a MSD DIS2 on my car. It has a lead off it which when grounded stops the ignition from working. I have it hooked upto my alarm as well as a manual switch hidden inside the car is a very obscure place. I just switch it off when the car is sitting somewhere farther than a 10 second run. Nobody ever would find it save for those who strip my car down to absolutly nothing. Even if you saw it you would not see it lets put it that way. With out that wire not being grounded there is no way the car is starting. The wire is bundled inside the ignition wiring harness, I even went as far as to change the color of the wire for those of you who may know what color it is off the ignition system.

My alarm is also setup to disable my ignition and fuel pump. Even with the brain unhooked the car will not start. The brain needs to be hooked up and functioning properly for the car to run. I have a back up battery and siren inside the car. My alarm is equiped with a dual stage proximity sensor that will go off even if you stick your arm inside the window without touching a damn thing. It has proximity for the parimiter that sends a horible warning sound if you even get too close (Ie hands on window looking inside)

Lets put it this way, I could give you 15 minutes with my car, tell you exactly what type of alarm I have and hand over a wiring diagram, your not starting that biatch up. I'll even take off the steering wheel shroud to expose the key cylinder for you ahead of time (also re-inforced and funky alan key bolts use so it's really hard to remove unless you know how) and you still wouldn't get anywhere.

If you spend the time and put some proper measures in the car, it is still eventually stealable however the amount of time and effort needed is so high that you car, though damaged, will still be there when you get back even if somebody tries. I have never had anybody try since I got the prox alarm with the horible noise if you try to peer inside the glass. That alone is enough to stop 99% of those who would think to try. I would not be able to steal my own car if I didn't have the key and alarm remote and I set the whole system up the way it is now. I know the key cylinder inside and out and know exactly how to jumper it to start the car and I still couldn't take my own car without the key and alarm remote in a reasonable amount of time. Given a few hours I'm sure I could bypass all my wiring but that would be what it takes.

good alarm system, build a speaker hooked to the indside of your car also (hidden in an obscure place hard to get to) put the alarm on delay ( about 10-15 seconds, so that if they do get in) when it goes off after they are in it about 15 seconds the noise is so starteling and loud that they will just leave it set.

or another idea for at home if u can is to do as I am park my car out side my bedroom window, under a motion sensor light, leave the curtians open at night and that way if any one gets even close before the alarm is activated they will think twice about it, light wakes me up so it works.

OR just get a 155lbs Rot and chain him to the car. simple enough.

I posted a long time ago about something almost exactly as you described telly699. I think it was something like "Cheap $15 alarm system and impossible to steal your car" It was a vehicle immobolizer which works VERY well. I have it wired in my car and I gurantee somebody would have one hell of a time trying to figure out how to disable it. :thumb:

I still like the idea of making your car a HUGE taser or shooting fire from under the car. :D haha If I had something like that, I would PAY people to dare and touch my car! :p

what you do is you custom make an pipe goin out to the driver door and et one of them flame kits, and then when you get the alarm goes off, its usually from them breaking the window hit that bi***. burn baby burn muahhahahahahahahahahha :thumb: :thumb: thatll make a thief think three times before messing with youre shit again

Reposting my favorites:

1.) Get a piece of 3/8" plywood, 18" square.

2.) Buy some attractive upholstery material that co-ordinates nicely with your interior. Avoid flowery material.

3.) Get some foam rubber, 1½" thick, also 18" square.

4.) With contact cement, attach the foam to the plywood. Make sure all the edges of the plywood are nicely sanded and smooth, so that the foam and the upholstery material will have a good, finished appearance when you're done.

5.) With the foam attached, and on a clean surface, turn the assembly over onto the foam so that the wooden bottom is facing you. Using scrap wood, support the edges of the piece so that the foam is held off the work surface by about ¼".

6.) With a power driver, run approximately 100 motherfu(king drywall screws, 1¼" long, through the backing and into the foam.

7.) Using a tuck-and-bead method, upholster the cushion. It's nice to finish both sides, or do an attractive stain job on the back. You may want to embellish with an appropriate DSM design.

8.) When leaving your car, place the cushion on the driver's seat. Be sure to remove it before sitting again, or when leaving the car with a mechanic (that you like) or a valet.

You now have an attractive, self-powered theft deterrant, complete with its own audible alarm (depending on the thief's singing abilities) and DNA sampler. :thumb:

Also, disable the airbag system, re-wire the rocket propellant to the alarm, remove the bag and replace with dimes, broken Coke bottle glass, razor blades, sheet metal screws and rat feces. Surprise!

I also like wiring the alarm system through a couple of those godawful mazillion-decebel piezo alarms mounted in the headrests. The cops will know they've found the right suspect when after they ask him where he was last night, he says, "Sorry, what was that? Could you speak up?"

And here's the plans for the magnetic-switched starter circuit:

http://www.autospeed.com/cms/article.html?&A=0059&P=1

It's okay to post, because selecting where the magnet (or few, if you've already had a car stolen) mounts is limitless.

I've been tempted to put a contact switch into the seat cushion of the driver's seat. Get a relay for the Aux. output on the alarm and set it up to energize the system when the alarm goes off. Then you use the pressure/contact switch in the seat to set off a selenoid that triggers an air-tazer or pepper spray mounted where the side vent once was. It should be rather effective in stopping both theft of the car and the stuff inside.

How about this one! Instead of keeping them out, how about keeping them in. I could probably make one of these giving the time and intrest.I was thinking 3 solid beams on the side door windows and 3 larger ones on both the front and rear, then 1 for the rear side windows. If the got in your car, they can't get out, and if they hadn't then they can't get in any more.

But what I do for know when I'm concerend I disconnect the connector for the fuel pump above the gas tank.

Just get me a "big black guy named ben"

go check starterupsteve.com and check funny animations if you dont know what im talking about
