Well I have been spending a lot of time recently with my girl, and haven't had time ot buy the game. I am really hopping on gettign it soon. The thing is, I am getting around $100 back from taxes(not bad for only working like 3 months) and so I am looking at the DFP wheel. Does anyoen on here have it? Is it worth it? I don't want to put out all this money if it's not really worth it.

Right now I have the force feedback controller, the older one. I like it, but i don't like the fact that it doesn't have the 900degree radius. I like it to be more realistic. I already have the lap attatchement though, so that helps.

Any reviews, or input would be nice.

-Thanks.

I have the Driving Force Pro. Cost me $149 (and tax), but it was well worth it. I don't normally like steering wheel controllers but this wheel feels awesome. The quality of the controller is top notch. The resistence is just right, as well as the feedback. Gives just enough input to match the conditions of the road, but no so much that you're sitting there fighting the wheel for control of the car. It's really easy to sit down and just start using the wheel for the first time without having to "adjust" to the wheel. Plus the 900 degree rotation is really nice. That was one of the things that I hated about wheels (they rotate only a little bit and stop), but not this one! It's really cool spinning the wheel round and round for those tight turns.

I've been using the wheel at work (hehe) for most of this week. I converted my cube into a cockpit for GT4. LOL. You can see a pic if you look through the "Gran Turismo 4 Setups" thread. Everyone that I work with has also tried the wheel. Most all of them had the same reaction that I did. They loved it!

...and check this out. I just found it. It's a custom mount with seat for the logitech wheel. http://www.playseats.com/ I might go pick one up this weekend. Having a nice setup is so much better than using a lap mount (if you can afford it).

So yeah, I highly recommend this wheel. :thumb:

I was 10x faster with the controller compared to my buddies gt4 wheel... the 900 degree is nice... but its much harder to control if you ever start sliding...I almost think 900 is too much... but then again i only got to use it for like 30 minutes so maybe it just takes time to getused to to get good with it...

I very much liked it though, its very good quality

I think you can adjust the turning radius in the wheel settings, so it doesn't have to go all the way to 900, but I bought one, and have been using it and I don't see it as a problem. Although, the wheel does have a steep learning curve (for me anyways) I'm loving the game so much more with it. It might be easier with the Dual Shock, but it's just more fun this way.

Gt3 was built around the DS2.. GT4 is built around the DFP from what I hear. Takes a lil while to get used to though. As for www.playseats.com I tried their seat at Fry's, the piece of crap was falling apart while racing. The middle part that was holding the steering wheel fell off and then the part with the pedals on it slid forward too far (during play) :thumbdown :barf: There are many many many cockpit ideas. Here are some links for you.

Well its either GT3+DFP wheel or a new ACT 2600 clutch. I'm going with the clutch. Right now if i floor it in 3rd it hits 15 psi, then the clitch will slip. :thumbdown So it's time.

Are all the setting adjustable like in pro race dirver for ps2? I know yo ucould adjust the dead space in the middle, how far to turn and a whole host of other things along with pedal stuff. Is it the same on GT4?

You can adjust from 900 to 200 degree mode and you can adjust the feedback.. I think thats about it for gt4..
