First off already did a search on the forums and didnt find too much info on this. Just curioius to see if any of you have used this turbo before. Im buying a 95 gst with a S259 turbo from what I get its a 600hp turbo not much else and when I drove the car boost didnt hit till around 4300-4400k so a lil laggy. Hit pretty hard and only pushing 18psi at the moment. I will be pushing that number up a bit soon as I get the car. And it does have all suporting mods fuel, tuning, cooling the works even have a 5000 mi frankenstein 6bolt 1g rods with 2g pistons combo. I would say its maybe around 300 or so hp my goal is 400-450. So its has a good base for me to work off of. Any info on this s259 would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't know much about the turbo, but the "frankenstien motor" is a piece of shit. Read the vendor reviews about DSM Graveyard

Frankenstein just means using parts from two or more different models of the 4g63. It could be 1g rods and 2g pistons or 2g rods and evo pistons, or even 1g rods and evo pistons.

Many have built these engines with success, its the engine builders skill level, and we all know where DSMgraveyard stands on that ladder. They might have coined the term also, I am not sure.

Lets help this guy and he should look into if the motor was done at DSMGraveyard. Then if it was he needs to stay away. Because every time I hear frankenstien I cringe and instanley think of them assholes.

Thank you all for the comments I'll see if I can find out about the engine build. Been a while since I've had a DSM so learning a little again.

Just read the reviews on it... Very bad I'm definitely looking into it before the purchase. It seemed to run just fine day of the test drive. Also if anyone does know bout this turbo feel free to chime in

There are many flavors of "S259," two different compressor covers, two different turbine wheels and something like six available turbine housings.

I had a S200sx-59mm in the small "race" comp cover, mated to the uncut OE Borg Warner 74mm/64mm turbine. From spring 2009 to winter 2011, I ran this with four different turbine housings and manifolds, ranging from internal gated bolt-on to the full monty T4 divided. Maxed out at 38psi, it was logging 67lbs/min.

To do it again, I would skip straight to the big 1.22A/R T4 divided housing and use a set of GSC S2 cams. It's a shame there were no local E85 pumps then.

Thanks 38psi sounds like a lot boost. More than I'll ever need. Ill have room to grow later down the road.I just havent heard of the dsm community using it much.

I ran an S258 in the T3 .70 housing, made 479whp at 28psi on pump gas, stock bottom end, head, intake manifold, just FP2 cams. It was a bit laggy compared to my previous S256 in the .55 bolt-on housing, if I had it to do again I'd use a twin scroll hotside.

Thats kinda were I wanna be power wise. It was a bit laggy during the test drive. I had a bastard 20g on my last gst and boosted way earlier. Thank you for the information. Ill probably leave it on there for a little while sounds pretty decent for the most part.

Find out more about where that engine was put together before buying. You can get S200s for cheap, don't let it sway you into buying a potential time bomb.

I ran one back in the day. mostly stock parts the turbo was a beast:)

I can see that with your dyno run. I like it too. Right now its on low boost of 18 psi if I get the car will turn it up just not to much since it is my daily.

Im going to get more information on it see what the guy tells me.

I ran a BW s259 that Bullseye built with a Batmowheel in T3 and .70 AR..
On a 2.0 with 264/272 cams, it was a bit laggy on the street but did fine at the strip with some ant-lag help.

Thank you for the info... I think I will stick with the current set up. Gives me room to grow into. Very good set up right now s259,1000cc,dsmlink v2 will be upgrading that,255 walbro,fp race intercooler, full 3 inch exhaust, real greddy bov,act 2100,280/280 bc cams, full gauges, all I can think of right now. This is being sold to me for 3k. Clean body no rust perfect interior.

And good news about the engine it was not built by grave yard it was built by Showdown motor sports in ohio. From what I can gather they build decent engines. So I will be making this purchase shortly. Thank you all for the input. Hers some pics
