With the recent purchase of the dyno at my shop, I am planning on doing some heavy research at the abuse of my own car.
I am very impressed with the HX35 and i intend to push it to the max in its stock form.
Turbo of test will be 8blade, 56mm ind, 82mm exd. With 12cm wastegated exhaust housing.

First test setup will be as followed.
1990 Awd Talon
2.0l block
8.8:1 Comp Wiseco pistons
Eagle Rods
Forged lightened crankshaft
Stock oiling system
Kelford TX-280 Camshafts
Custom Cylinder Head (Fox Lake CNC Port, Dan Herron Custom Valves with 5.5mm Stems, Dan Herron Custom Valve guides, Dan Herron finish port work and valve job. 315cfm @ .500 Lift!)
JMF Drag intake
JMF Top Mount Divided T3 exhaust manifold.

I plan on running the setup on VP Racing CHP Fuel, e85 and alcohol.
Hope to have results within the next few weeks.

It may be a bit over kill but like I say I'm looking to max out the turbo and I dont want anything to hold that back.
 
It doesn't matter, when you run to the edge of the turbo. It would be within 10% if it had a stock head/cams/im on it.

Anyway, if the dyno reads anywhere close to correct, it should be in the 550whp neighborhood.

UOf course it's accurate. It's a brands new mustang awd500. And my interest is more geared towards the use of the different fields as well. I've gained 20whp on NA 4cylinders just by using chp instead of regular race fuel. Gotta loved oxygenated fuel.
 
can i ask why you decided to go with a mustang dyno over a dynojet or a dynopack?
 
Setup seems a bit overkill for an hx-35. That cam/ head package are huge, and not really needed for an hx-35 in my opinion. Try it out and see how you like it.

We have used this fuel in many low boost applications with very much success. 4-5% gains to the wheels. Isn't testing about trying things no one else has and being innovative. This is not to be used in any street or racing application at this point unless there is some spectacular result. And the choice of a mustang dyno answers itself. Most accurate and best quality hands down. I dont care to see inflated numbers. Your car makes the power it makes, why take it to a different dyno to see a higher number when it doesn't make your car faster.

I agree, dynojets are just inflated crap numbers. I made over 405whp on a dynojet as where a load bearing dyno I made 330whp.
 
Glad some people are on the same page as me, whether then question every thing. just be happy there are people that throw their own money away to do research so you have a better basis to build your car off of.
 
Well while your doing testing on your own car and "throwing you money away" to do it.. Why not add some map sensors in the intake at the filter, compressor inlet, compressor outlet, and intake manifold. As well as a couple temp sensors? Say intake pipe, compressor outlet and intake manifold. :D Oh and an EGT in each runner....and of course a WBo2 in the o2 housing....maybe one in each runner as well? J/k but seriously I have always wished I had the money to sit back and get a LOT of data like that. Oh well, thanks for doing what your doing.

There will be alot of data present, full logs as well as dual wideband, dual boost sensors ( one at comp outlet and one at manifold). Thats the best part of the dyno, hooking up all the knick knacks.
 
Don't listen to the negative people on this forum. Reminds me when bisimoto (famous honda tuner) was being made fun of when he was trying to build a non-vtec engine. Now he has the first non-vtec 4banger to hit 10s. Of course he has alot of time, man power and money LOL, but he set the pave of D series engine tuning. Now aftermarket companies are following and setting up parts for the soo soo slow honda d series engine. Oh this was back in 2002. Trial and error is the base of everything we research. I'm pretty sure back in the 80s V8 guys were saying its a waste of money to mod that ching chong japanese 4g63t 4banger. HELL I'm pretty sure people said the same thing when the first person put a HOLSET diesel turbo on our engines.
