Recently while washing my car after a drive i sprayed water on my intercooler and saw that it was oddly hot. It was to hot to even touch, and ive never had this problem before. I recently upgraded my turbo to a HTA35-86 and I dont know if the intercooler is now too small for the turbo??? im in the dark on this one, ive talked to many people who say that although their intercoolers do get warm on the turbo side, they never heat up so much as to not be able to touch it with your hand. Any ideas? ( my core is 3''x26''x9'' )

I have a scm6152 and it gets hot to the point i cant touch it on the driver side....the passenger side remains cold to the touch though.

How much boost are you running? The efficiency of a turbo not only describes its spool and ability to hold a desired boost but also a more efficient turbo won't blow hot air until very high boost levels.

The compressed air coming out of a turbocharger will be well over 200°F. If you'd never checked it before and have nothing to compare it to, there's not a lot of sense in worrying about it. But if you just can't stand it, rig up some thermometers and find out what's going on.
