well i bought my car with this turbo on it . and i had to get the motor rebuilt and switch the turbo off of my car because it was blown. i now have a 50trim on the car that decided to take a crap on me so i figured ill go ahead and get the sc63 rebuilt to throw back on

now ive read alot of the sc61 and how they make great power . but i have never heard much of the 63.

anyone know the spool characteristics on this turbo? can it be upgraded to dbb?

i just shipped off the turbo to precision to get rebuilt so ill know what going on with it soon enough.

well, I don't know about on a DSM, but I have one (sc63) on my sr20det....it would make 20psi by 4100rpms. Not too laggy. I would figure close to the same spool on a 4g63...I did have some small aftermarket cams in the car at the time (Tomei type-r).

I'm not sure the spool characteristics that are described above would be accurate. The SC63, like you mention, is a big shaft, so that means more mass. It will also most likely have a P trim in it, which will have it lag a little more. Even a bolt on scm61 spools later than 4100rpm. I would guestimate around 5k depending on which hotside is on it.

well the turbo will be to my door by the end of the week . so hopefully my stroker will aide in spooling this bad boy.

goal is 450+awhp on pump and full spool by 4600. hopefully it all goes well.
