ok guys dont ask me why but my car came with a 13b turbo and auto exhaust manifold. last night i bought a tubular header and i thought was a 14b turbo for 120 from a guy i know. today after i got out of work i was looking at it and it didnt seem right. the pipe for where the intercooler connects to the turbo seem diffrent. it is because its a t-25 my question is for the $50 i paid for it should i keep it or try to see if i can get my cash back or a possibly a 14b off a motor hes got? is the t25 bigger then the 13b? and upside or downsides? thanks for the input

Tubular is asking for problems, especially for that price. If it's a guy you know, he should be honest with you about what it is you bought.

Different how? Pics? A T25 is downward pointing with an elbow pointing toward the pass. side and the cartridge is held to the turbine housing with bolts. A 14b will have TD05H cast into the comp. housing and the cartridge is held onto the turbine housing with a v-band clamp.

is the t25 bigger then the 13b? and upside or downsides?

They're very similar in size, both good for about 250whp maxed out. T25s are known to crap out if you push them, whereas 13g's seems to be a bit more durable except for the turbine housings cracking and melting when they're older. Either one is not likely something you'd want to run if you're looking to go fast.

ok then ill just ebay it or get my money back or get the 14b that should be on the motor in the shed. as for as it looking diffrent i noticed it because my stock jpipe wont bolt up to the t25 will the 13g everyone i know calls it a 13b but w/e. the manifold was for a 2g awd auto hes selling and he didnt feel like replacing it its a peacesetter i think i have the decal for the maker in the box. its brand new with the gaskets and bolts. since they are silmar in size ill eaither leave my current setup for now or get the 14b and toss it on with the manifold i got or i might buy a ported big 16g a friend has that needs a rebuild. another person i know told me he could rebuild the 16g for 150 so i may go that route i just dont know yet.

T25 flows more than a 13g, mainly due to the difference in the turbine housing 6cm vs. 5cm. and the exhaust manifold collector size and runner diameters. The 13g is severely restrictive on the exhaust side of the motor. I'd run a T25 with a stiff wastegate any day over a 13g, or just get a real turbo like a 16g.

Learnign something new everyday here. . . I thought that since the t25 is a garrett that it has a garrett style housing with garrett particular a/r numbers.

No, I meant to say the "collector" opening on the turbine housing of a T25 is the same size as a 6cm mitsu housing. The A/R on the T25 turbine housing is .49 or .48, which is actually physically slightly bigger than a 7cm housing in the "nozzle" section.
 
well ive got a 16g its geting rebuilt some im waiting on that. i figured since i had the manifold id swap it over with what i thought was a 14b. i talked to my friend who i got the trubo from and were going to check the other trubo if its the 14b im ganna take that for now then swap over my 16g :)

You'll be happy w/ this 16G over a stock 14B.
