well ive done some searching on this turbo and and apparently theyre mostly used on 420a's. anyone use them on 4g63's? i also noticed i think they have a 3 bolt t3 flange. any help would be appreciated because i think i just bought one.

is it possible to swap on an actual 16g turbine housing? just want to make this simpler than its turning out
 
I've rebuilt a pile of these in my day. They are nothing more than a plain M.H.I. Small 16G with a compressor cover that mimicks those found on a 20G. I have a spare "Super 16G" compressor cover lying around if anyone would like to convert their Small 16G into a "Super 16G."
 
What are your goals? It would NOT be a waste fo time if your goals fit waht a small 16g cam deliver. . . The small 16G is a perfect balance of turbine and compressor flow, diameter, and durability.
 
i was thinking an evo 3? just in case my taste changes later, but im gonna do more searching and decide
 
I would go with the evo 3, some places you can get it for less than a small or big 16g, and its better than both... that turbo just keeps on amazing me with what it can do, if i didnt buy my car with a small16g on it already i would have upgraded to an e3 16g.

How much do Hahn16g's go for? Did you already buy it, or are you thinking of getting it?
 
I had one traded an xbox for it, never installed it traded it for a dc teg. but from a few people who have had this turbo on there 4g63 there more then happy with the spool and how much hp they make. I wouldn't listin to much on people who havn't had the turbo them selves and it crap on them. it was just way more then I wanted to spend on getting it to work on my car, but you will need another exhaust manifold o2 housing or you can buy the adapter from hanhs website for the adapter plate to bolt to a dsm manifold.
 
It's a garbage kit,stay away from it. Poor quality,leaks like hell by the manifold as well. Just get a 16g and bolt it to the stck mitsu mani.

Of course everybody will have an opinion, and I have one as well. It's one that's based off actual knowledge behind the wheel as my car runs the HRC Super16 and I personally like the setup. It was a fairly complete kit that has good street manners and some punch when my foot's in it.

I'm curious....have you owned one or is your opinion based off hearsay? If you did own one, did you match port the exhaust mani-adapter-turbo? If you owned one, how long ago was it?
 
want to be able to hit mid 12's when i take it to the track, then re tune and drive home.

I ran 12.4 @ 108 on straight pump and 12.2 @ 111 on pump/meth on a 14b and SMIC. Any 16g variant will EASILY meet your goals on pump, no need to re-tune to drive home.
 
thats cool, i think i may have found a manifold and if it falls through ill just buy an ebay t3 mani.

i was talking about adjusting timing and whatnot for the drive home......you know the little things you do to make your car faster at the track

And a properly tuned "street" car won't need anything touched to run faster. Now if you're running race gas, obviously you'd want to lean it out and add timing/boost, but that's a different story.

thats what i was talking about, i wouldnt go to the track and not run race gas. got to get those fast slips for bragging rights ya know :thumb:

I owned the Super 20g. I had leaks with it and made several calls to Hahn about it. First he sent me new studs and that did'nt help. He sent me another adapter plate which was useless as well. Then he had me purchase a turbonetics t3 /t4 mani but then there were serious problems with the O2 sensor housing leaking. All in all just a terrible kit and a serious waste of hard earned cash.
