Ok here's the deal. I have a 95 gsx w/ for now a 14b on it. I plan on building the engine etc... and putting a 20g on eventually. What injectors should I use to support the 20g and can I use them w/ my 14b. I am going to use a safc. I might only go w/ 18g or even a super 16g. Not sure yet. All I know is my bro has a 70 trim on his conquest and I don't wanna go that big. His car is crazy fast but not so streetable. So what do you guys recommend for my set up? I was thinking 550cc or 650cc. Let me know and thanks in advance for the help....

general rule of thumb is piggybacks cant really tune anything over the 600's too well, but since 650's are you larger size you're fine. SInce hte price between the two is negligble and the 650's will give you more breathing room IDC wise it would make sense to go with those.

I did ok tuning PTE 650s using jsut my MAF translator. SAFC should be the same.

650cc injectors flow enough to match around 400hp. . . an 18G can do a a bit more. And of course the 20G can too.

Like was said 650 is about the max on a piggyback system such as the SAFC, otherwise you get crazy timing advance because of how much extra fuel you have to remove with larger injectors. Now being your a 95 you probably have an eprom ecu already so DSMLink would be a very good option for you. If thats the route you go then you can run larger, without any issues. 650's will probably cut it for a 20g but I'm sure if you want to push that turbo your going to max those out. Another option would be to have an eprom chip burned that will compensate for the injectors & then you just fine tune with the SAFC. With that combo you could run larger injectors as well. But since you probably already have an eprom my vote would defently spend abit more & go with DSMLink, you won't regret it!

Why not just pick up a set of 550's. New or used from an EVO is even cheaper. Those are very usable on the 14b and can be used on the 18/20g as well. If the injectors aren't big enough to support as much boost as you'd like, you can always sell your 550's and pick up some 660's. How much time is going to pass before you upgrade your turbo?

Well thanks for the response. How much would a dsmlink cost around? Since my computer is already an eprom do I have to send it somewhere to get tuned, and then use the dsm link to dial it in? Or does the dsmlink work with out having a base tune? I don't wanna run a stand alone. My bro has that and I see all the tuning he does. Maybe in the futre but not for now. I will just most likely do 650's and safc. Thanks for all the help.

The price is $595. You will have to get your ECU socketed. When you order the chip, Dave or Thomas will ask you for what size injectors you want it preset for. I would advise a wideband and a GM 3.3 bar map sensor (if you're using a GM MAF for tuning your airflow readings). The wideband will take a lot of the "guesswork" out of tuning your A/F ratios. From there it's all just percentage tuning with fuel (with global controls and dead time control), and incremental timing controls at WOT.

680cc will work fine on pump gas. It's just on race gas it goes from -24 to almost -35 /-40 out of the afc. I actually on 2g's prefer to use 550s, and bump up base FP to get a better timing curve.

Wayyyyy cheaper then that just check with the vendors I got mine for 500 shipped I think from the vendors here. Also if you do plan on getting link just go for 1600cc and never look back. I went with 1000cc just because of the deal but I don't think I will ever max them out. If I could of found 1600cc for a good price I would of got them so I could run e85. Just buy injectors once why buy 550cc then 660cc and so on and so on because you keep changing your set up.

Just a note. Some have noted small idle issues when running 1600cc injectors. BUT. I know of at least one fellow who throws in a few ounces of acetone in a tank of gas to heighten the misting of the fuel.

Also raising base pressure will heighten misting. Although when running a much higher fuel pressure, be sure that even your upgraded fuel pump can keep up Higher pressures lower pump flow. Either should clear up any idle issues.
