bov problem

hey im having a problem with my hks ssqv. I just replaced my turbo xs rfl with the hks ssqv and it doesnt blow off at all. Ive listened under the hood while my friend gassed my car and all I hear is the churckle that comes from my K&N filter. And I tried driving my car and it hit 13lbs of boost and it still doenst blow off, just compressor surge. I searched the forums over and over and I don't see a solution to the compressor surge problem. I tried to back out the non functional screw all the way but of course this did nothing. My friend has one on his SRT-4 and it sounds really nice, but for some reason my car doesnt do the same. My turbo xs worked and when I installed the hks I installed it exactly how the turbo xs was on my car. I have it T'd to the intake and boost controller and no its not recirculated. What can I do to make this thing function like its supposed to? and if you can point me in the direction of some descriptive threads on here that would be fine also. thanks alot.

Dont Tee your bov line for a boost contoller. Tap the boost contoller line into the licp or J pipe. When you tap your bov line it doesnt give the bov the right vacuum and causes boost spike. At first my ssqv would blow off by its self when the line was teed off. Its causes the bov to stay open all the time. Tap your boost controller line into the J pipe or LICP and let us know if that helps.

Drill a hole, then tap the threads in it for a nipple.

okay i tried that but it still doesnt blow off. ive revved the engine under the hood and then when i let off of the throttle i tried pushing in the inside of the bov and i got it to release air. but why doesnt it do this automatically like its supposed to?

Might be a faulty bov, email HK$ and see what they have to say.

Are you venting to atmosphere with a GM MAF+translator?
Mine doesn't release unless there's a load on the motor where the turbo actually spools. A quick rev won't build enough pressure to release like N/A cars that add a turbo do.
Try low boosting (on the streets and not in your driveway). Also make sure that it has the correct tension to release at the set psi.

im venting just as i was with the RFL. i am not running the GM maft. and the RFL would blow off with the car sitting still. I thought that the ssqv would do this also. and i tried it with load on the engine and it still wouldnt blow off. i have the adjustment screw backed all the way out. any other ideas? and i thank all you guys for your help.

SSQVs dont have adjustment screws. Atleast not the new ones. I say the bov is broken.

Trust me, this is the only bov i ever heard that blows off at 1psi while driving and 1500 rpms at idle, my greddy wouldnt even blow off at idle until about 5-5500 rpms. The HKS is very sensitive and blows off all the time.
