I'm right in the middle of installing my Supra SMIC, and I could sure use a tutorial with pictures FOR A 2G :beatentodeath:. Getting the stock smic out without removing the headlights and bumper was enough of a bi***, and now I'm trying to figure out what to do with the side marker light hitting the corner of the IC. I don't think I'm going to have to dent my frame, but I do have a few problems that I'm looking at right now.

1. Figuring out what the F to do with the side marker light

2. Cutting the hole for the top outlet. I think a metal holesaw would make the cleanest install, my dad thinks the best way is to drill a few holes and use a hacksaw to connect them.
3. Hacking the Dave Brode UICP to fit the new outlet. I have a 45*, a 90*, and a straight rubber connector. I can always run to shitZone if I need something else.

I also have an idea for finishing the hole that I'll cut for the outlet. I kinda stole it from the Greyforest hood vent mod, but the thing is to JB Weld a piece of vaccuum line around the metal edge, so it has a clean look and it won't rust. I know it's not too original, I've just never seen anyone do it on a Supra SMIC install before.

And don't start with the FMIC shit, I bought this sidemount because it was 100 bucks and I'm determined to use it.

sorry man but I don't have any pictures of my setup on my computer, but I can tell ya a bit about how I did it. You DID flip the endtanks, right?? haha okay good, just making sure. Okay so basically what I did to make it fit in the bumper alright was to use a little piece of 2" steel pipe for an extension for the top endtake. That was pretty much my big secret!! I had the straight endtank at the top, and the curved endtank pipe on the side. I had to use an airhammer to bend a pipe going to the turbo, but that isn't too hard to do. But basically I think to answer your question, just use a little piece of piping for an extension and you should be good to go. But be CAREFUL: When you take this route, it IS going to be sitting a lot lower to the ground than the bumper/rest of the car. I ended up crushing mine on a curb :/ But I just figured it was a great excuse to get the front mount :) But the Supra IC was definetely worth the money I paid for it. Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. Lol, yeah the top is already flipped. The previous owner did it so I din't have to bother with it. I did figure out a few things when I was sitting and staring at the car.

I've got the side inlet connected straight to the LICP, so it puts the whole SMIC at a bit of an angle. That made it pretty easy to fit in. The top outlet is pointed straight at the existing hole, so I won't have to cut a new one. Then I have a plumbing 90* connector going from that towards the UICP. I will have to trim about 3" off the UICP, but it's pointed at the right angle now.

I also have to find a place to bolt the metal straps I got to actually mount the damn thing. And I'm going to have to figure out some sort of ducting since the old one won't fit at all now.
