OK so i was compairing my new 20g  to my old :tease: 16g. 20g in the first picture and my 16g in the second. and i noticed something was different on my 16g, the exhaust blades were like angled down. and my 20g are normal i guess you would say, and what my question is, is that is my 16g clipped, and if so would it help my 20g to put that exhaust wheel in it. thanks for the help guys. karl-

It would appear so. But i would not advise taking the 20G appart because then it will be unbalanced when you put it back together. Very very bad thing for a turbo. It won't last long if it's not balanced.

Well just by pulling off the turbine housing, you don't unbalance the turbo. Its possible for you to swap exhaust wheels as long as both are the td05 wheel. Your 16g is the td05 wheel but there could be a chance the 20g has the tdo6 wheel. If it does have the td06 wheel, then you can not swap it into the 16g. If both are, you can swap them and send it into Bullseye for them to re-balance the turbo for $40.

He's talking about swapping wheels, not just housings. Both of those wheels are TD05Hs. If you swap wheels, first check the bearings to make sure they're ok. Then, as mentioned above, send it out to get re-balanced somewhere. Where the heck did you get a 20g with an unclipped 05H wheel though??

Yes.. PLEASE, get her balanced (personal experience). You 20G TDO5H wheel indeed looks clipped. Perhaps 10*. The 16g TDO5H loocks clipped 15*. I am lookig at a TDO5H wheel in my living room right now and if you look at it in a completely horizontal plane the tops of the blades look exactly horizontal. And, I know that mine is not clipped.

I fully understand what he is talking about. If I didn't, I wouldn't have responded.

If, If, the 20g were a td06 wheel and housing, he could not throw in the td05 wheel from the 16g and put in in colaboration w/ the td06 housing. However, I do see now that both are td05's! :thumb:

And yes, it does appear that the 20g is clipped, just not as extreme a rate as the 16g. I don't know if you got a good deal on the 20g, but If you do decide to swap wheels for some reason, I suggest also having it rebuilt w/ all new seals and balancing to guaretee smooth, long lasting performance.

thanks for all the help guys, i think i will just stick with the exhaust wheel thats in it. i got it for a great deal, 325$ and it doesnt need a re-build so im going to leave it alone. time to sell the 16g. thanks for all the help. you can close the thread, no more needed help.

That top pic doesn't look clipped at all to me. If it is, it's the mildest clip ever. I can take a pic of an unclipped 05H wheel and post it, looks identical to me.

Is it me or does that 16G TDO5H exducer not look horizontal? It could be the way i'm looking at the pic. If it is not exactly horizontal to the plane of the turbine base then it is clipped no matter how mild... Maybe i'm looking at it wrong.
