I can't believe people are still asking for how to instructions for things that have been on www.vfaq.com for years.

For pipes Dejontools which just happened to be the add at the top of the page for me when I was reading your thread.

It's not too hard. As Ouacylla mentioned, you need an intake pipe to adapt the 2G MAS to a 1G car (Dejon's intakes are a good choice,) you also need to create a plug adapter so the 2G MAS plugs into the factory 1G harness (1G and 2G plugs are different.) Obviously, you also need a 2G MAS (duh!) And an S-AFC and larger injectors are a wise addition when doing this mod. This mod is really not nessicary unless you are hitting fuel cut (the 2G MAS flows more air [somewhere around 20%, I don't remember the exact amount] at the same Karmann reading) and could cause you to run lean. The VFAQ will give you more detailed instructions with pics.

I would agree with Joe. Unless you have 550 injectors or larger, and an S-AFC.. a 2G MAF is not going to help you.

In my case I installed 660 injectors and a T3/T4 50 trim. I used the stock snorkel and 1G MAF for about 2 days. I then installed the 2G MAF and dejon intake. The turbo spooled quicker and the throttle transition was much smoother.

The install of the 2G MAF is very simple, and the VFAQ instrauctions are VERY good.

The larger injectors are not neccesary to use the 2g mas. The SAFC is a neccesity. I would highly recomend not using it without a SAFC.

You can get away with using a 2g mas and 550's only, but It's definately not recomended.

Hey, I just had a tought, If a person was low on cash but still need the 2G mas and for some reason doesn't allready have a SAFC, you could just put a resistor on the temp sensor to richen things up till you can get an SAFC or other compensation device. Or would that not work? I am not sure but I think it's like 18% leaner than a 1G mas, that's the # my friend told me.
