A buddy of mine is doing a Stage II Hahn kit in his '96 eclipse. While doing some research, the following was found:
"The black box is your feul cut defenser-FCD it will prevent your MAP sensor from seeing positive pressure-BOOST if your MAP sensor see's boost it will freak out and Drop the voltage to comphensate, so the FCD will not let it see BOOST. Somtimes the Black box failes some people say it is a POS the missing link-ML is a check valve and places your map sensor in it and when boost sets in it close's and keep the MAP sensor safe. SO voltage dose not drop."
I'm doing the install on his kit and have never heard of the "black box" term before. My question is, do I really need to pull this thing out or will the car run fine and boost normally like it is supposed to?
I know I should have posted this in the "turbo conversion" thread, but figured it would get more attention here. Thanks for any help you fellas can give.
