strange knock WI

Ok i just installed a DIY water injection system and i am now running 17psi and 10degrees BTCIf i launch from a dead stop i get about 14-18 counts of knock. but if i roll just a little like 1ft per sec. and do a launch i get no knock at all? any sugestions?

Nope your wrong i am rolling no faster than 1 ft a sec. and whats this fake knock. hell if the ECU sees knock then its knock.:confused: I wonder where or if theres a VSS (veical speed sensor) on the car cause also as soon as i start to roll in nutral the idle goes up. hmmm I need to go threw the wring diagram and see what makes it do that.
 
there is a such thing as "phantom knock" where the ecu misreads noises as knock. There's supposed to be a way to make it not see it, but it also screws up the ability to see real knock, too.
 
ok seems to be fixed now. WI now comes on at 4psi instead of 6 and base timming is dow to 8 instead of 10.:thumb:
 
Well, yeah. 10 degrees of base timing BTDC is a LOT, unless you are running race gas....

I will only use 5-6 on my car, you don't need more than that.

There is a VSS, and two idle speeds. One is for stopped, one for rolling.

Since i run WI you need more base timing as the flame front burns longer so 7+ degrees is not uncomon. I f i keep it at 5 btc with WI then the flame burns so long that my EGTs get really high very quickly.

Hmmm is there a way to adjust the rolling idle? cause it shoots up to 1400 rpm as soon as i move. I adjusted the set idle with grounding the #10 pin on the diognostic and my stoped idle is fine its the rolling idle thats messed up. Thanks:D
