When is it time to upgrade to an A-FPR?

I am just wondering when it would be a good time to relpace the stock FPR with an adjustable one? I have a 190lph pump, 550's, and an SAFC for fuel mods. Is it even worth upgrading to a AFPR or is the stock one fine? Thanks.

Wouldn't hurt to do it now. I speak as the victim of having a stock FPR fail... You're probably OK with the 190lph though. It's a VERY good idea to upgrade if you had a 255lph. If you get a Supra pump, then you better upgrade or you're just asking for problems

You don't need one.

You need an AFPR whenever you're running enough boost to get the fuel pressure over about 70 psi, or when you have a pump big enough to overrun the fpr (255lph, Supra).

ok well i am fixin to upgrade fuel. i am gonna get a 255lph a set of 580's and a translator. what is a good (fairly inexpensive) fpr for this set up? cuz the 255 will over-run the stock fpr. any help is greatly appriciated.

DSM Motorsports has everything you will need. You can also peice together all the parts needed from Summit Racing and a Billet -6AN Fuel Rail Adapter from dsm motorsports. Take a look at the VFAQ's and search here and dsmtalk for PLENTY of threads on this subject.
