I have a dejon tool FMIC and a stock radiator..
my car runs DEACENTLY cool just cruising around town.. the needle stays about half way.. LITTLE just banging around not hitting full boost (18psi) but when i get on it HARD.. i.e a 2nd and 3rd gear pull from 35 to 100mph it heats up a bit.. from about the 9 oc position to maby 10:15 nowhere near the "warning mark" it does it worst if i hit it hard then let off to an idle.. if I just let it coast down and keep the revs up (let 5th drag it down) it rises less..
this is in 85-95 degree heat with 89-90% humidity..
I doubt the temps im seeing will harm the motor, but it bugs me none the less..
Ive started replacing all the air ducting that i pulled out for the FMIC install, Im having to remake it with neopreen rubber.. so far i have to TOP but nothing else.. it seemed to help SOME but it still gets a tad warm..
I know the obvious solution is a bigger Fluidine, Koyo or PWR radiator.. but thats a good chunk of change right there, plus trimming my damn fans..etc
so far im looking at 3 more possable solutions..
1: Redline Water Wetter. my friend swears by it and it seems to do good at dropping a good 15 degrees or so..
2: reconnect my oil cooler.. i bypassed it when i did my head swap.. I figure MABY the extra volume of coolant will help some... MABY..
3: Finish ducting.. im doing this assuming the hurricane doesent wipe me out tommorrow (dead smack in path) better flow around the core always helps...
anyone here from TX running a FMIC? your reactions? torments? anyo other ideas in general?
