Are we taking the honeycom out of the GM 3 1/2 MAF sensor for our cars. I Just got my translator and a 3 1/2 maf. Should I gut it or leave it in.

With the 3.5 inch, you should be fine leaving they honeycomb in. I believe Mike Litch said that, with the honeycomb in, the 3.5 inch MAF will flow fine up to 800 cfm.

So, unless you're running 10's or maybe 11's, leave it in, it will be more accurate.

I think it was that the 3.5" can flow 900cfm with the screen and 1000 without.

are you doing blow-through or draw-through? Id like to see someone use the 3.5" in a blow-through set-up already.

I will be running 10s & later 9s but it sounds like I sould try it with the screen first. I will be posting these 10s soon. Also I am going to pull threw for about aweek & then I am going to order my pipe for the blow threw. Ill let yall know how it works.

Just installed my translator 3 1/2 mass - wow this works. I am pulling threw for now. I will change to blow threw next week. This thing is great, it tunes in good & has fix a high boost miss I had. A mod well worth having.

Where are you guys getting this whole setup and for what cost? I am looking to purchase the GM MAF and the MAF translator if its not too spendy.

Well, 25$ for the 3'' GM Maf from a salvage yard. 207$ for the Maft from RamChargers. 52$ for 2 Silicone Reducers from RRE. (Prolly need new injectors after this) Still havnt installed it who knows what problems lie ahead that require more money. Also take off reducer cost if you dont plan on going blowthrough. Hehe I Didnt really have the money to spend but I spent it anyways hehe. My excuse was that my car needed fixing cause it runs like crap (Venting LOL)

PS
If you dont have a datalogger or access to one expect to pay from 60-250 for one because itll be very helpful in tuning the maf.

DSMparts.com have these. Do a search for GM maf an you can find the maf for as little as $9.00. I cut the hose connector out of my mass housing & took the sensor out & bolted the GM to my factory mass housing. then I made a intake pipe. You dont need new injectors or anything else. I dont have data logger or anything to tune with but had no problem getting it set. Shure you could do better with a logger but many of us have been tuning without one with AFC & it is as easy to tune as the AFC,Mabye easyier. If you want to blow threw DSMparts has the upper pipe for right at $200.00 but you can do it the way I did until you can buy the pipe. It is a sweet setup that makes drivability very good and powercurve is awsome.
