Hey guys,
I recently bought a 1990 talon tsi (awd) with about 113k. The car has some mods already done. When I bought the car it was stripped down on the inside and was intended to be a drag car. The outside looks very nice with only a few places showing its age. I don't know however what kind of abuse its seen since it was going to be a drag car. My plan is to go through and have all of the fluids flushed and filled. We're talking coolant, oil, brake, transmission, transfer case, rear diff., and new filters (i.e. fuel, oil, air, etc.). Are there any fluids I'm missing? What brands of fluid would you guys recommend for the different applications? Any other maintenance mods you guys would do while I'm at it? Thanks for your help. Later.

Hey guys,
I just noticed when I scrolled to the top of the screen the featured products. Mainly the o2 sensor. Would you suggest replacing the o2 while I'm at it? I was also planning on replacing the plugs and plug wires as well. Would you recommend changing anything else like that while I'm at it? Thanks.

Clutch fluid also. I would also replace distributor cap and rotor, pvc valve,I guess you'll be bleeding the brakes if you change the fluid, Also you can get a new thermostat and radiator cap. Just go over the car and replace anything that looks used and abused.

I didn't think about changing the clutch fluid. Also would you guys upgrade to stainless steel braided lines while you're replacing fluids? SS lines for the brakes, clutch, oil lines(?), etc. Am I missing any? Does anyone make any really nice radiator hoses for the 1gs? Samco maybe? I think I've heard of that name before when it comes to hoses and stuff.

I think I found radiator hoses for the 1g. I'm pretty sure turbotrix has some. I haven't looked up their sight yet however. Does anyone have any oppinions on this topic. I could really use some help here. What do you guys recommend for the fluid flushes and changes? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I want to make sure all the fluids are fresh before I start driving it around alot. Thanks.

Only flush the hydraulics and cooling systems. The rest are just happy with a fresh load of fluids.
As for stainless lines, all of them are good, and all are expensive. Do whatever you want to pay for.

Thanks for the info on which ones to flush and which ones just to change. The stainless lines I was thinking about were brake lines ($100 or so) and clutch line ($30 or so). Are there any others like stainless oil line for the turbo? I wasn't planning on doing an fittings. That does sound very expensive and troublesome. Thanks for your help.
