2G fuel pump in 1G PSI question
I hear the 2G pumps push 50 or 80 lph more than the 1G pumps do.. sooo if i rewire it and put a 2G pump in do you think i could run 17 PSI on 93 octane?
Mod's
* K&N
* Guted CAT
* 1G MAF Silancer removed
* HKS Type 1 Turbo Timer
I only ask becouse if not i'll just wait untill i get a 3" turbo back exhaust and a few other mods before I get a MBC and real guage..
(I know thoughs mods at least the first 3 only realy help the turbo spool a little quicker but still....yea know... figured i would list them anyway)

I can run 17 psi on 93 on the stock 1G pump if I rewire it. Not sure why you think that's so hard.
And where did you 'hear' this? that there was such a radical difference in fuel pumps?

He may just be thinking about the higher fuel pressure on the 2g's, because of the regulator.
If your going to the trouble of swapping pumps atleast put a walbro 190 or used vr4 pump.
Unless your plan on making big power then go with a walbro 255hp or the supra pump, along with some bigger lines and a fuel pressure regulator.

My car will *barely* do 17 psi on pump, but that is with a Walbro 190 lph pump and big fuel lines.
I agree that if you're going to put in a pump, just do it right the first time.
I don't see why you would wait until you got a bigger exhaust to get a MBC. IMHO, a MBC is one of the first first mods you should get with a turbo car.

What's wrong with the motor?
I don't know if shooting for 17 psi is the best thing to do, it's possible that you will need more than a 190 lph fuel pump to do that, depending on your car.
Just shoot for 15 or 16 psi.
The rewire might not let you run 16 psi, but it's a good idea anyway. I wouldn't run more than like 14 psi without it.

nothing just been run hard and needs rebuilding... nothing realy wrong other than the compression is low across the board.
It's well into the service limit (132 on #4 and the others have low 120 readings)
So i figure it could use new bottom end bearings rings etc. And stronger connecting rods never hurt...

The 2G flows a little more at the same pressure than the 1G, about 30lph on average. BUT, if you are gonna get one out of a junkyard or something, why not get a 3000GT VR4 one? That flows even more than a 2G pump. The flow rates are all listed at
