which one would be best to control my a/f, i have a 97 eclipse with a full 6-bolt swap, i am getting random misfire codes and running lean. the apexi safc seems to be the cheapest alternative, but i have heard the dsmlink is the best for the 1g in a 2g. other option is the greddy e-manage. want some advice from ppl who have these and have used them with their 1g swaps. thanks

There are only 2 ways to get RID of the misfire code:

1) A ecu change that removes or disables the test
2) A CRANK mount sensor instead of a cam mounted sensor to improve the rpm signal accuracy

so simply using an afc to get all the settings right won't stop the random misfire? if so, then dsmlink would be the best way to go as i see it.

on another note, i just got fuel cutoff today when i was driving around...accelerated in second and sure enough around 5k rpms fuel cuts off...i am figuring this is because i am running too lean, would an afc fix this, or would i also need new injectors and fuel pump?

A SAFC will do nothing for the random misfire. However, it will allow you to do the baro wire mod, which stops the ECU from searching for the RM. You cannot do the baro wire mod without the SAFC.

You won't get fuel cut because of running too lean, it is totally dependant on the mass of air flowing past the MAF.
