I'm having some troubles leaning out my tsi. All I have to go by is an a/f gauge which I know isn't the most accurate but gives me a rough reading. I know how to use the afc but after adding a few things it's running rich and no matter what I do I can't lean it out.
Settings:
Low Throttle= 20%
High Throttle= 80%
High Throttle settings:
3k= -26%
4k= -22%
5k= -18%

I've leaned it out before but all I needed to do was go a few percent. I"ve gone alot up and down and no change in the a/f. What am I doing wrong?

A little more info. I'm still running the stock injectors. It used to be set perfect righ on the borderline of stoich and rich. But then I took the cat out and added a catback then started running way rich. I think the max I've gone from what I used to have it set at is 8%. I don't trust my a/f gauge that much to go any farther. After the catback I ran 5 bars into rich then leaned it out to 4 bars. Should I keep going, just a few percent at a time? If you guys need any more info let me know and I'll post whatever else you need to help me figure it out.
Another thing I've noticed is the main throttle settings. I've noticed alot of people run 75% High and I run 80%. Should I change that also.

I'd suspect the reason no one responded is that they don't want to give you advice that will blow your motor up. And with what you are telling us, I'd be concerned too. Tuning to almost stoich, is WAY too lean when you are tuning for power. You are subtracting out 20% or more with the stock injectors? Thats scary. Either you have huuuuuge boost leaks after the turbo, or you are running so lean that you can expect to be buying a new motor soon. And from the sound of how you are tuning, it sounds like you are going towards lean.

Either way, I'd turn the boost down, and put the AFC back closer to zero, until you get some decent way to tune. The stock O2 sensor isnt reliable enough by itself to tune with, you really need to know what sort of timing you are getting also. And you really dont want to tune a car as lean as you are, without having some way to watch how its running. A logger may seem expensive, but its a LOT cheaper than a new engine.
