Tons of knock at cruising? Help needed

This happened all of the sudden yesterday:

Knock sensor behaves normally under hard accelleration, next to no knock all the way up through the gears. No more or less than normal.

Cruising such as 45mph in fifth up a hill gives > 40 knock all the time and no boost being used - WTF? Mild accelleration does the same & O2s look normal.

Did my knock sensor or ECU just die or what? It still behaves normally for hard accell, but normal driving it's just off the freaking chart. I have a hard time believing it could be actual knock.

Gas: 3 parts 110 octane / 7 parts 91 octane and it WAS working fine.
Big 16G on stock fuel system @ 10 psi.
No A/F control.

This happens to me as well, I get right around 43 counts of knock, it just sticks there in 5th, at around 45-50 mph. It's really weird, I'm not positive if timing is getting pulled or not. If I let off the throttle, it disapears instantly, if I get back on it, theres a random chance it the knock comes back. Very strange..not sure what's going on there.

Bingo thats it. Please tell me someone else has fixed this?

Solution:

My 3" exhaust was lightly bumping into the rear carrier bearing - produced phantom knock. Problem fixed.
