I just recently switched my DD 16g car to E-85 in a attempt to max out the turbo. I have been running Sunoco 100 octane in the car for the last 2 years on just one of my chips 2g maf and 680s. The car is now on Link V3 with 1000cc PTEs I have never had a issue till the E-85.

Ok now for the issue I tuned the car doing road 3rd gear pulls and the car is a beast no missfires of any kind solid pull to 8000rpms 44-lbs/min 28psi 21* of timing. Now if i do a 1/4 mile run launch the car it feels great 1st pulls till 8000rpm but by the top of 2nd i start getting a miss above 6000rpm and when i shift to 3rd the car is breaking up so bad i can not give it any throttle and even have to coast for 10-15 sec and the miss will go away and the car runs great i can do a 3rd pull and no breakup. As soon as i try to do a 1st trough 3rd run it will repeat what it did previously.

The only conclusion i have is a am running a Tial BOV without re-circulation and a 2g maf so every time i shift i am flooding the plugs with a rich condition and they get wet. Any thoughts or similar issues?

Pretty sure fuel pressure is good as the car is acting like it is flooded. It will spit fireballs out the tailpipe when the problem happens indicating too much fuel.

I run non recirculated BR8ES plugs, 30+psi and near 60lbs on a cold night. No problems. The BOV venting in reality? Its just not that big of a deal. The effect is extremely limited IMO.
The AFRS and a log would help. Base fuel pressure at 38?

edit: At that psi, i would personally recommend 8's, non projected of course, gapped no more that .020. I run mine around that maybe .018 and still get good idle and cruise. MPG is probably shit but i dont buy gas and its a weekend car so who cares LOL.

AFR's are about 12.7 up top so its not rich at all. Remember it only happens after i start banging the gears. If i do a 3rd pull there is no issues. This is a track car and the weather is not good for trying to drive on the street to get a log sorry.

Ok, so if its acting like its dumping a ton of fuel, then igniting it blowing flames out the exhaust, sounds like its not burning the mixture and dumping it to the exhaust right? So that would mean that spark is bad. but, then again, you say the afrs are relatively lean, even for e85..... This doesnt add up. I would say spark issue

Ok looks like the head gasket is blown and i am drawing in coolant. Today doing pulls it was almost the same problem but then i also noticed the coolant temps going high. After a few more pulls she is overheating bad.

This motor has never been opened so no ARPs or MLS. I think i have gotten a good run out of it.
