I started working full time again so im makin some decent money and have some to spend on the car.. after i get my new trans in im going to start looking to mod performance.. all general maintenence has been done and im ready for the mods..
I have a no name sheet metal intake that im going to get rid of and put the stock 1g back on and i have a wally 255 and 16g turbo.. what do you think about getting link as one of my first performance mods? Im planning on goin with link, then ordering a wideband and throw them both on at the same time, then i want to grab atleast a set of 750 injectors?? let me know what you guys think

Some form of Engine management or a a tune regardless of the means is probably the best thing you can do for your car... .

I consider this to be the best "first mod" to a DSM. I would grab a wideband too at the same time, so that when you decide to buy injectors/fuel pump/afpr you can start making some good power right off the bat. GO FOR IT!

I already have a 255 pump so im good on that and i have 550 injectors not installed yet but im just going to sell those and get a bigger set.. and also i already have a boost gauge so that knocks off those little things already and the wideband will be installed same time as link!

And to the guy with the blue 1ga.. BEAUTIFUL CAR love the color ;)

Best mod you can get IMO. Theres so much to learn and do. Its a great piece of software.

I'm sorry if I sound rude or anything but if you have to ask this question, you shouldn't be around a dsm. Going with anything bigger than stock (turbo, injectors, etc,) is pointless if you have no way of tuning and logging.

...............WTF thats the point in getting dsmlink...?? LOL i dont have the injectors on the car there in a box in my garage waiting for a tuning source :thumb: and a 16g with a bigger fuel pump isnt hurting anything it flows better than the 14b so on the same psi it would be more useful tons of people run a 16g on an otherwise stock car

I chose link over anything esle simple enough and was a investment, so i dont have to figure out what a tuning device later, i skipped the safc, and got rid of the maft translator.

if you don't know how to use link and you can't figure it out, Your risking blowing your motor.

Fixed :p

Making changes or trying to tune your car with out the knowledge is probably the biggest mistake people make after their new "first purchase"

Regardless how easy the GUI is to use and make changes or even how easy it can be for Some getting things calibrated right. You still have to apply real knowledge to get the right end results... .

My one friend is the major tuner for all the guys with dsm's in my area so ill be going to him to have it done, but im going to be right there with him watching so i can learn how to do it myself and not grenade the engine LOL

Def the best mod I have ever put on my car...well it's a close tie with the HX35 :rocks:

I would definitely recommend V3.

The Link forums are fantastic for learning to tune the car yourself. Their customer service is top notch and the guys on the forum know their sh_t!

You sound rude! All the guys are supporting him and you come in with that S***. Maybe you dont need to be around a DSM.

Good luck OP. I think its a good idea.

Definately getting v3 when i order and its just going to be lite for now thats all that ill need should be able to order in about 2 weeks when i get paid i need to dig into my center console and see if i have eprom or not ive just been to lazy to look!
