i cant figure out my random misfire problem. im running LINK. and im gettin the 0300 code. ive read a jabillion threads about random misfire and i cant find an answer. it usually happens during cruising speed little to no boost. and when i turn the ignition off and then on again it fixes and it takes anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes for it to happen again. i have a black top, fully built stroker, dsmlink, coil on plug system. my shop says it may be the ignitor gettin to hot because its sittin on top of the intake manifold. if anyone could give my any insight i would very much appreciate it.

Uncheck the "Cylinder Misfire" box in the "DTCs" tab. You're getting the misfire code due to the 1g cas.

Another thing you can try if it isn't the "Cylinder Misfire" thing is if you still have your stock coilpack and wires, try putting them on just to check to see if its not your COP thats acting up

I've experienced lots of COPs acting up and causing randon misfires or just straight up misfires (all the time) on Evo's and DSMs

it did it with the plugs and wires. we thought the COP would fix it but it still does it. and i get what your sayin about the code but if i uncheck the box is it goin to stop the misfire or is it goin to just stop gettin the code for the misfire? im also gettin a rear o2 sensor code. but that shouldnt cause a misfire. there is one more code but that shouldnt cause it either. ill get the other 2 codes and post em.

Can you feel the car misfiring and/or is it actually misfiring?...if not, then it is the "Cylinder Misfire" thing, due to the 1G CAS as stated by turbosax2 above...the 2G ECU is programmed to see the stock crack position sensor and cam angle sensor separatley, since its now getting both inputs from just the 1G CAS it throws a random misfire code.

Its hard to explain by typing but basicly the "slack" in the timing belt is read by the CKP and CAS separately stock by the two sensors separate...with the 1G CAS, since both sensors are in one sensor and read together, that "slack" isn't read and the ECU thinks its misfiring because its not seeing the speeds of the criggers that it needs to separately......sorry, its much easier explained in words, haha I suck at explaining through text

hope this helps

i can actually feel it misfire. it sputters while im cruising. the car loses all power i have to turn the ignition off and then back on again and it will act fine for a few minutes. then it starts doin it again. it does seem to go away for a little while longer if i actually clear the codes out. that may just be coincidence. is it possible the ignitor could be gettin to hot? or no? if so i can extend the wire'n out and put it to the side instead of on top. should i post this somewhere else ?

ok i havent had the misifire happen but these are the 3 codes im readin now, 0141 (O2 sensor heater circuit malfunction), 1400 (Manifold differential pressure sensor malfunction), 0443 evaporative purge control valve malfunction. ill post again if i get the misfire.

i got some logs im gonna post see if you guys can give me some advice on. im new to all this shit.
