Louisville,
I saw that Tornado engine performance booster that installs on the inside air intake hose, that creates a mini whirlwind of air to ensure best fuel atomization possible. It "says" test proven to increase gas mileage up to 24% and boost power up to 13 HP...Does anyone have this to prove this right or is it all a gimmick and doesnt do anything?

I have heard mixed reviews...the only positives being improved gas mileage...

I don't think it will work on a turbo car, after air goes through the turbo it wont be a vortex any more.
To me it looks like a new restriction on the intake.??

Install this in a turbo DSM.. I wanna see the pics of the compressor blades after it gets sucked in. These things are useless attempts to get $$$ from idiots...

remember reading an artical (i think it was scc) a few years ago about that...they did actual dyno runs with a 1g rx-7 and, i believe, a 240sx...basicly, i remember it showed a loss of power and fuel economy on both cars...i wish i still had the artical because i remember it was a restriction, but i can't remember the exact number...

Ya, this product is a about as big a gimmick as it comes. The funny thing about some modifictions is that if people expect to see a gain then they think they do. I saw that aritcle about them to and it did'nt show any noticable gain in power. Its kinda like those penis-pills they make that can make you gain a full three inches, ya right if you belive that I got a bridge in Brooklyn I can sell ya.

The cute little vortex of air will die as soon as it hits the throttle plate...and the bends in the tubing, and the little place that seperates the intake into 4 nice little openings into the combustion chambers and the top of the intake valves...I bet it was something like this.

So why don't you send me the cash and I'll mail you a can of "Super Fuel" It's fuel that was refined in a special plant that is pressurized to 40PSI. Jesus this thread is still alive OMG

LOL at the super fuel add

Later,

i have a 96 gst and i got one of those tornado engine boosters and i wanna know where at in the intake pipe i should put it, should i put it be for or after the bov or closer to the manifold or farther away from it, where would be the best place to it and would the bov have any part in where i would put it.

can anyone help me

do a search for toronado, or something like that, and you'll find the general consensus on this board is that it's all hogwash. it IS NOT however, the same as the cyclone intake... though i don't know much about that, feel free to read up on that while you're looking for stuff about the toronado thing

No way dude, those things give you great power!! My friends Old eighty eight pulled waty hard, like to 9k after we put one is his car. We were smoking neons and hyundai's easy...

psst... candela, you forgot to add a little disclaimer to the bottom of your post! :D

Yeah the only reason they boost your gas mileage is because it is a restriction in your intake. besides Dynos can be manipulated by a little knob on the bottom that changes the readings. so dont ever believe anything that says it boosts hp by so much..

I was told about the tornado back in the summer...when I contacted the company that makes them...I was told they don't even make one for a turbo Mitsu...and if you check their website...when you go to enter your car information...turbo is not an option...you sure you got the right one?

yes it is crap. there is no debate. and there is NO comparison between the cyclone intake and the tornado booster. the cyclone intake is crap for drag racing because it is meant to increase low end power and the side effect is that it drains top end. it does its job. its just not meant for dragging. and the tornado... well it doesn't do anything, the whole swirling crap is BS it doesn't do a thing for the car.
