I was told by someone that you should individualy check and adjust the tension of the valve springs and that they should all be matched up for optimum engine performance. That by doing this you will get a lot better performance out of the engine. What is yall's experiences with this?

basiclly what you are doing is making sure that the tension is the same all around and won't cause premature cam wear for one thing, next is that if they are not tight enough you can experience valve float in some cases.as far as a performance stand point there is a little amount from it but not a alot of difference, it is just to keep your cam from wearing prematurely.

Ideally, all valve springs should have the same tension. When I was into mustangs, stiffer springs would eliminate valve float (as NOSNUSE said) and therefore increase the redline.
