i just found a old sigle knob afc i had for years and wanted to install in my 1g talon but i can't find the manual. need help on how to install.
 
this is the one for the five knob i need the one for the single knob. i need to know which car setting i shoud use?
 
That single Knob SAFC is useless for a DSM, I almost bought one looking for a deal but although it'll hook up to your car, it won't give you performance gains except for that one RPM incriment you choose. This unit was best suited for a RX-7.
 
well i use to have it in a rx7 years ago now i just had it laying around doing nothing, so i decided to install it but ran into this problem of not having a manual. so i don't know what car setting to put it too and to check if i hooked it up right.


any afc guru's out there
 
sell it to a guy with an RX-7, buy a 5knob or new afc, and then start tuning....its not beneficial enough to use...hope this helps..latez
 
this car is a winter beater just trying to get some extra out of free ####
and for the record it does make a diffrence. what do you think people were using before the five knob and new afc. when i brought this new it was the best thing on the market
 
Before the five-knob AFC, people tweaked the IAT sensor output.

The problem is that you're not going to get "some extra out of free ####" with your one-knob AFC.

Typically you want airflow tuning to offset a) larger injectors and/or b) hacking the 1G MAF.

In both of these cases, you actually want to *add* fuel down low to compensate for injector lag time and the funky flow characteristics of the hacked MAF.

You can't do this with the single-knob AFC. If you adjust for a working idle, you run too rich everywhere else. If you adjust for your bigger injectors, you won't idle worth a damn.
