discombobulated cigarette lighter....

anyways, the wires for it are disconnected. i dont know where they are (prev owner wasnt exactly an electronics genius). i suspect they were used as power for....something. what needs to be connected to make it work again. i miss my gaydar detector

not sure on what to wire for the cigarette lighter as I nkow its only a power and a ground but im not sure if the power is a special power wire.. anyhow about the radar detector.. why not just hard wire it to soemthing else thats switchable 12v and ground??

yea, i was thinking about tapping into the sunroofs power. but i would love it if the lighter actually worked in case i need it for something.

well the cigarette lighter only runs off a 12V switchable power and a Ground.. thats it.. so you can rewire the cigarette lighter using that notion..

just got finished fixing that and putting the radar detector up high to get better signals.

cool.. yea I had to think about it for a second becuase i was thinking the power wire may be special but using logic I figure if I can tap that power wire that the cig lighter runs on for other stuff like the radar detector then obviously its only a 12v switchable

you can....i found out my lighter wire is powering the head unit, radar, tv, and some other mysterious wire

Yeah, mysterious wires are the best. Years ago I was trying to install a cd player in my friends '84 escort (! now in the junkyard where it should be) and the idiot that had the car before him had all the wires messed up. I had to guess on every wire to the stereo. It was alot of fun
