Hi, I have posted this before but have not been able to get any correct answers. This is my problem, i have a 1993 Eagle talon TSI AWD 5sp with a 90 motor. Timing belt broke and the valves were banged, so I bought a remanned head and put it on the car. The problem is that the car wont run right. Took it to the mitsu dealer, and they could not find the problem. When we took a closer look we noticed that the timing marks did not all line up. IE, the 2 cam gear marks line up, and everything else does, but the crank is off by like 1/2 off a tooth, no matter what you do, the timing marks will not line up correct! Has anybody ever had/heard of this problem? or should I just get rid of this car before I get in too deep. Any help would be very cool. Shoot me an e mail at [email protected] Thanks

i have not yet seen it in a DSM BUT. i have had that happen to me several times in other cars...
what happens is the keyway that the crankshaft sproket sits on chews into the crankshaft and actually moves!
it is bareley noticable while putting the sprocket on and off but it is a distinct possibility in your case.
i have seen this TWICE now in 2.2 mopar engines.

just a thought. let me know if you find that this is the case.
