Cams, Injectors = Rich?

Correct me, if I'm wrong, but I have a stock head(cause I dropped a screw into my ported head and tore it up) with 264I and 272E Cams & 550 Injectors, with no S-AFC installed (YET!). But, my question is this....Doesn't the ECU control fuel pressure settings? So if that is the case...Would my car be running extremely rich, without F/M? Becuase if the signal is coming from the stock ECU then it will (should) only tell it to squirt at the same rate as the stock injectors.......OR.......Does the 550's inject more fuel no matter what the ECU tells it?...In other words is it controlled only by the FPR?

With a 264/272 combo your breathing capabilities, especially up top, are going to be vastly improved. Meaning you will get a lot more airflow, which would cause the ECU to add more fuel anyway. Being that you have also installed 550's, your fuel curve is going to automatically be richer, as the 550's flow more fuel than the stock injectors at the same fuel pressure. Therefore, your car is "most likely" running from moderately rich at idle and low load states to very rich at the higher load states. Personally, I would add a fuel pump, FPR and fuel control of some kind, you'll find tuning a linear fuel curve much easier than a non-linear one. Good luck, I hope this helps.

Thanks for the info....that's what I thought, sorta. But, thanks for clearing the air. I will add an FPR and SAFC asap.
