MAFT with no other tuning devices?
I have always seen the use of an MAFT partnered with an AFC or something else. I have never seen it alone. Is it a good idea (or a bad idea) to get a MAFT and tune solely by that (without the use of any other tuning devices, like AFC or DSMLink or anything)? I realize you won't be able to fine tune, since it's only adjustable in 5% increments. But can I get my car into a good, strong ballpark so I can run a decent amount of boost while waiting for DSMLink funds?
Thanks for your comments,
Jake

Damn, I didn't know that. I have my SAFC to assist intuning. I've never ran the MAFT solo. Hell, if it works, it works.

Just to let you know, Mike is about to release V2.08 of the translator which is much more adjustable than V1. You definatly will not need an AFC with V2.

I run mine solo, no problems at all. I actually mounted mine inside the cockpit in the armrest, so it's very easy to sit there and tune while you're driving.

Mine is hidden under the little armrest thingy, at the back behind the cupholders (1g).
That way, you can't even see it unless the rest is up, which is pretty cool.

Man, I thought I was being original! j/k - on a serious note, I think that's a really good spot to place something like that. Also, I have no problems banging it around with my hands, etc.
