Sounds like fun for a street motor. Dont plan on revving the piss out of it though.

I wonder what it would do to transmissions. I figure she could still wind out to 8300-8700rpms.

I'm thinking "not so much..."
Rod Ratio of 1.44 (if they use "stroker pistons" and a 153mm rod)
That's worse than a 2.3l stroker (at 1.50)
I don't think I'd be comfortable taking that above 7500... if that. But, as stated, it could be cool on the street with a mid-sized turbo that it could spool quickly.

IIRC you end up losing around 500 rpm to a 100mm crank as far as piston speeds are concerned which isn't a huge deal. It might not be worth it in the end for that ~10% increase in motor size though.

I'm sure he's only saying that as he has a 6 bolt.

The large torque increase from the added displacement will makeup for the loss in rpms.

How much of a loss of RPM though? What would be an acceptable redline for a street car with this stroker kit?

Well if I was going to drop 3k on a stroker kit I would be calling the manufactor (BC) to get as much info as possible on what is suggested. With that much more displacement you are now changing everything about the air flow capabilities of your engine. What worked before will now be a choke point. First I would tell them what I intend to do with the motor and then ask for suggestions on cams, turbo, intake, TB and so on. I want this kit for my 4G64 I have in my garage but my wife wants a kid so my dreams for my 4 banger sleeper are doomed......

Do you know if you use the 2.4 head or the 2.0 with this kit? But i would love to see someone get this kit.
Gixrman Ive got two kids and they are definatly expensive. Just tell your wife if she wants kids she has to give up the income tax for the next 3 years, which I might ad is very huge when you have kids.
opps just noticed it says 2.0 head

If I was to do this I would go with a full CNC ported head.

You won't need to rev to the moon and back with something like this. The Torque is gonna be there, plus that could spool a monster turbo quick.....wonder what it would do drivetrain parts....lol

While writing StrokeOrNot.pdf ( http://www.kidzuku.com/StrokeOrNot.pdf ) I did not calculate this 4G63 configuration. (Thought about it and chuckled though.)
If someone can post the weights of the pistons and rods here I will run charts for piston acceleration, velocity, rod tension, and harmonic imbalance.
On first blush it looks like such an engine would be limited by it's ability to breath; as gixrman suggests.

I'll work on getting the weights. Care to crunch the numbers for the 4G64 (4G64 block/100mm)?
